Meadow in meltdown
Plantar fasciitis replied to Meddaman's topic in West of Scotland Football League
Ye neither were really featuring under Deeney after the preseason games and would likely have been moved on even if the management hadn't changed. At least it maybe frees up space and wages for Ferry to bring in one of two of his own additions. -

haha before hindsight! -
Very interesting to hear Ross Urquart is on the list at Darvel, given the exodus of players in the summer, very few seem to have found the grass is greener at pastures new and who knows where meadow would have been if they had stayed, especially with a more settled squad. Urquart - Darvel , on list not playing. Wharton- Burgh, in & out of struggling team, Boyd - Talbot, form poor struggling for goals Slooves - Talbot, playing well but worse league position than last season Cal Graham - Clydebank, out of picture poor form

Good to see Boydy getting a goal, smashing lad and player. Unfortunately just not an out and out goalscorer . -

I heard there was a few high profile managers interviewed for the job so Martin must have done something right to be offered the job, I really hope he proves the doubters wrong -

Come on though so you think the players or the teams asking the question make the existing club aware they wish to speak to the player because I can tell you for a fact most don't, thus as far as I'm concerned it's still tapping. -

Let's be honest most do their business during the season tapping up players due to go out of contract -

I didn't actually mean to sign him , and I'm sure Tucker wouldn't take advice from me! I was just using him as an example of good experienced guys sitting as a number 2 not playing! I -

Shanner the position Talbot find themselves in they don't have the time to coach it out him in my opinion. The problem you will have is the boy's confidence will be eroding if he keeps making errors , exasperating the situation for him. There is plenty of good experienced keepers out their sitting on benches as no2. I'm surprised Talbot haven't identified someone to come in with the carrot of the no1 jersey. I was really impressed with Meddas no2 in preseason -

I remember when Buffs won the super league many moons ago and had the same sort of start the following season, it was the same chat everyone saying they were too good to go down and in all honesty I think that reflected on the park with players clearly thinking it would just happen instead of making it happen and they couldn't get out the rut. There is so many similarities to that buffs side to now , with many of the older seasoned pros leaving like Tam Curries, Alan McTurk , Branco leaving to name but a few and more than a few younger ex pro youth league players coming in. the only difference was Buffs had changed their manager then too . The new breed of Talbot players need to learn , and learn quickly, that despite their league position every team they play will treat it as a massive game and no doubt put in that extra 20% because it's the Talbot . I know the non Talbot fans will disagree but everyone wants to beat them, for me it's still the biggest game rather than your Beiths or Clydebank to name but a few and I can assure most away teams will feel the same. it's clear from the results, today being a prime example, that the players aren't grasping the magnitude of playing with the Bot. -
I can't understand why people don't think Medda is an attractive job, it's a great set up and does have a good fan base, it's too early in the season to talk about going down and in my opinion has the bases of a good squad. I would have thought any manager in the leagues below would jump at it.

At least this has taken all the chat away from Talbots miserable start to the season Jim!

Maybe it was him touting himself

Haha to be honest I heard a rumour that the 20s coach had been wanting the job since Grierson left and had made it known to the committee, I'll be honest I have no idea if true or not but was told he'd come in as soon as Deeney was away
-
Not a buffs or Medda fan but have a mate at the club so had an interest since George Grierson took over !
