  1. Johnstone Burgh plans for Keanie park announced, https://www.johnstoneburghfc.com/news/johnstone-burgh-announce-exciting-redevelopment-plans-for-keanie-park Looks good, no indication on timescales etc but better putting their money on infrastructure than players, also assume would get them a licence and into the big SC.
  2. Agree SPAFA has some really good U19 and U21 numbers for next year but looks like its struggling for amateur clubs, wonder how many more will jump to the Caley. maybe we will get a joint West amateur league if all the teams vote with feet and join just one league. Notice they are only 10 min walk from EK thistle who are in WOS 4th, EKYM seem on the up with their facilities while the showparks could be using some redevelopment.
  3. Will never happen as the leagues cant work together, But a West amateur premier league would be some division, likely better than WOS 3rd/4th divisions maybe even 2nd! again maybe another bottle neck in the pyramid is not what we need. Also a part from St Pats, have any other amateur teams said they had senior football ambitions? Teams like Steins Thistle already have a ground that could very quickly be a entry level WOS facility, but I am sure they prefer competing in amateur Scottish cup later rounds than scrapping it in the bottom of the WOS???
  4. Just curious, where would the Queens fans prefer to play? If they were to add some temporary stands at lesser would that be better than an empty Hampden?
  5. Not a Falkirk fan, but fan off stadium architecture. Agree something different would be great, Money no object would love to see something which has a dual aspect so could be used for training pitch as well. That would become a great place for Women/ reserves/ academy etc. Add a roof to something like this would be really cool! https://www.archdaily.com/898946/club-house-varkenoord-nl-architects?ad_source=search&ad_medium=projects_tab
  6. They are saying that the SPAFA has around 30 x U19 teams and 14 x U21 teams. Likely some will fold before start of the season but that seems like decent numbers. The Caley/ West of Scotland U21 league had 13 this season, assuming similar next season overall is looking better than it was. However when I first played WOS U21 leagues around 10 years ago there were 4 divisions, with great teams like Harmony Row and Campsie Black watch, although this was obviously before the U20 set up which killed the numbers. Agree its pointless having two organisations doing the same job in same region as they could come together and create a great setup for U19/U21, however they wont do that unless all teams just pick a league and the other folds. I believe all the Ams league's should merge per region but never going to happen with to many parties sticking for themselves. I know the U19/U21 can join the amateur Scottish cup, but any word if they are going to have their own U19/U21 Scottish? Not that many teams to compete but across Caley and SPAFA might get some great games?
  7. St Peters have poached Knightswood managers and coaches, wonder if any players will follow them.
  8. Anyone know of any rules for just cancelling games with no reason? They will obviously lose the points and possibly deducted points further. they have a decent U20 team so surprised they can’t get 11 boys, maybe just don’t fancy putting them against top of league
  9. @GNU_LinuxWhy 4 up and down rather than 3? Is this dependant on West Premier winner and Lowland relegation?
  10. SYFA no longer cover 21s and 19s. There is no u21 Scottish cup this year for example. They only go up to u18s. The 21s and 19s are offered to play in amateur Scottish cup if they want but not sure how many actually took them up on it.
  11. I think 21's and 19's have become part of the Scottish Amateur set up, rather than SYFA. I think this is a good decision but will be interesting if it can have an effect on numbers of teams and players in amateur level going forward. Think they can opt into the Scottish amateur cup as well to get experience v adult teams. I Wonder if you have a team in 19's/21's and also have amateur team can players play for both just like 20's with there senior team??? West 21's have joined the Caley league, https://www.caledonianleague.co.uk/fg/1_278082253.html Scottish Premier (Old Fosters central league) has started an U19 league, with 18 teams. https://scottishpremierafa.leaguerepublic.com/fg/1_910662356.html
