  1. I’ve been one of Muirhead’s defenders, purely based on his goals and assists record. Fair warning to you though, Lyndon Dykes he ain’t. His technique can be excellent when crossing and shooting, but his lack of physicality and bravery for someone of his size and stature is noticeable. Quite the opposite of Dykes.
  2. I don’t think anyone wants this thread clogged up by a back and forth between us based on our respective views on the threshold between “features” and “features heavily”. Hopefully if King is relied upon, he can deliver.
  3. So nothing tangible to suggest he’ll be loaned out or released either. Unless you know something I don’t? He’s played plenty of first team games and is under contract for the coming season. Until I hear otherwise, that suggests to me that he is likely to feature.
  4. We run with a small squad and a lot of players in the positions he plays are likely to be leaving. The manager often waits until later to sign the players he wants.
  5. We have a problem in midfield. Ideally King would be challenging for one of the vacancies, or become cover for Wilson’s inevitable injuries, while challenging for Crawford’s vacant position. Reports from Clyde fans suggest he’s still some way off that. Hopefully they’re wrong because it looks like he’s going to feature heavily next season regardless. Hopefully not at left back.
  6. There’s been a lot of discussion about whether we could replace Oakley and Muirhead’s goals if they both leave, but I do hope due consideration is given to us replacing Power and Broadfoot’s yellow card count. These numbers will not be easy to replicate next season without the right recruitment.
  7. While Inverness are happily spending well above their means, could they splash some of that cash on a pub closer to the stadium? Thought Inverness played reasonably well, some of our players played like they didn’t want to get injured, French struggled out of position and Napier doubled down on recent criticism by seeking as much attention as possible. Credit to Blues who showed his value with a solid performance at right back, he’s a must keep for me. I stand by my opinion that Muirhead’s stats will be almost impossible to replace with one player and we should be figuring out how best to accommodate him, rather than releasing him. P
  8. If Inverness don’t manage to overcome this Morton lineup, they truly deserve their impending oblivion. It’s a huge ask of Blues and French to perform to the levels required down that right hand side of our defence.
  9. What a mess. Should’ve quit while you were behind mate.
  10. First visit to the Caledonian Stadium for me tonight, to potentially witness the end of two eras: Imrie’s Morton V1, if as many players are to leave as is rumoured; and ICT’s championship stay, as they begin an undignified tumble to the Highland League. Would be nice if we could nudge them on their way.
  11. Great. So not for cheating then, glad to have cleared that up.
  12. What is the connection between yellow cards and cheating?
  13. I would love to understand the leap that you’ve taken to arrive at that conclusion.
  14. Watched Raith v Inverness and I thoroughly enjoyed the hilarity of Inverness somehow failing to score or take anything from the game. That said, several Raith players were guilty of throwing themselves to the deck on multiple occasions, as we’ve seen from them in our matches this season. In the absence of any real meaning to this game, it would be some laugh if we did finally live up to the Big Bad Morton moniker and brutalise them ahead of the playoffs. Picking up some points to help us secure fifth would be a bonus.
  15. Our players should be highly motivated after last week’s absolute doing and a week’s rest. These last 3 games give us a chance to finish 5th rather than 8th and we need to see the players go all out to achieve that. Finishing 5th or 6th is going to be disappointing enough after looking good for 4th, but 7th or 8th would be infuriating. We’d immediately be pissing away a chunk of next seasons budget through our own drop off in form. There are a few who I’d assume are still borderline in Imrie’s mind for a contract offer too. I expect a win and to see some of our mid season intensity back.
  16. What a shame for Big Dunc after his comments about Arbroath. The Inverness players have clearly downed tools and just didn’t try a leg tonight.
  17. That’s shocking from Rudden, has the cheek to go screaming at the ref after it
  18. I suspect you’ve watched the Morton highlights and not the BBC. It’s clearer from the BBC side that the first goal is mainly Power’s fault. Crawford can see Docherty but has his own man behind him to consider. Power blindly tries to pass Docherty on to Crawford for some reason. Unforgivably shite defending, he’d get dug out for that in a Sunday league.
  19. Fair. My comment is based on the fact that we’d have to overachieve so significantly for the remainder of the season, to overcome that start and reach the playoffs, that it was very unlikely. Having got ourselves into that position though I understand that expectations were then raised.
  20. At least we’re top of something. I’d like to see us factor this into our summer recruitment and aim for 150 next year. Contrary to popular opinion, we’re far too soft for my liking. Does anyone have any vicious maniacs they’re looking to offload for free?
  21. It’s not a physio or a doctor McDonald needs, it’s a time machine. He’s looked shaky all season and conceded soft goals that wouldn’t have got past him with such regularity in his prime. Credit to him for playing for us when clearly injured, I think lesser characters would’ve chose to sit those games out. Despite that, unless he’s willing to take an extremely cheap deal and sit as our backup, he’ll be off in the summer with genuine thanks for his efforts and that’ll be the right call for all involved. There will be clubs who’ll take him as first choice. Mullen has a history of injuries so I do hope that we have a reasonably experienced number 2 going into next season.
  22. It’s the start to the season that’s really killed us. If we have even an average first quarter we’d be in the play offs. I’m sure someone will remember the details better than me but I think we were still bottom of the league into mid November. That unbeaten run was outstanding but couldn’t repair all the damage of our bad start.
  23. Well that certainly adds an extra element of excitement to the transfer window.
  24. I wouldn’t be surprised to see any of the three sign up at a championship club next year if we release them. All have proven records of performing well at this level. Waters in particular would be a sensible signing for any club in our division with a vacancy at left back.
