  1. From Cowdenbeath's Facebook it sounds like he took a while but eventually had them playing nice stuff. With that in mind, I get the impression this is more of a long term vision from the Bonnyrigg board. In the immediate term, and with all respect, I'd say its not a name that would put the fear of God in Stranraer or Clyde fans. Furthermore, he doesn't have the time, players or facilities to play nice stuff on the deck this season. However, a new manager bounce could easily see them keep their heads above water. For next season, regardless of the league they're in, they'll have a settled manager that can assemble his own team and have them playing the way he wants. If they do go down, he has experience in that league. If they stay up, he brings something fresh after the previous approach had gone stale.
  2. Tbf you've had about a day to finish a sentence on another thread and failed to do that. Bit rich you calling anyone else slow.
  3. My favourite bit is talking to someone ITK to confirm that the new manger of a football team in the professional leagues has worked in football before.
  4. Jim Duffy coming in to Bonnyrigg and finishing what he started last summer by binning us would hurt but at least be funny. Danny Lennon coming in to Bonnyrigg and finishing what he started the summer before last by binning us would just hurt.
  5. The result was fair, nothing between the two sides over the 90 minutes. Another point gained on 8th and 9th is to be welcomed too. However, while far from the worst performance we've turned in this season, I thought the 3 points were there for the taking if we had shown more composure. As it was, we spent most of the game going long, leaving attackers isolated. Some of our distribution today was really poor too, Kabia and King standing out in that regard. Worst I've seen Allan since he came back as well, albeit he was feeding off scraps. Midfield was anonymous, particularly in the first half. Just felt a tad desperate today. Positives, Kinnear looked more assertive at cross balls and made one great save. We lose today if Leighfield was still in goals. Hamilton and Šul'a seem to be building a solid partnership. Also McGinn looked dangerous when he came on. If he can find a final ball to compliment his pace he could have a great career ahead of him.
  6. Totally agree, we've been crap. Only interested in going direct. Even when the ball does stick doing that, it has seen Allan, Rennie or Kabia totally isolated. Get the ball on the deck at the start of the second half. If it becomes apparent the issue is personnel rather than approach, I'd get Ray Grant into midfield for a bit more composure. On the plus side, for all Spartans have played all the football and look a good side, they've had one really good chance.
  7. If the previous quarter of fixtures is anything to go by, 7 out of 9. I do understand where you're coming from, most of our wins haven't been vintage displays and I still get worried when we go 1-0 up. The team has played themselves right back into contention after looking dead and buried though and has earned the belief being shown in them.
  8. Ordering the list of teams on current league positions, thereby making Clyde the last side? Typical LAMEstream media bias against us. Still, all the best with your studies!
  9. Aw just admit there are a few bams in your perfect little support and save the energy spent on mental gymnastics
  10. Finger wagging dealt with, that's actually a very swift and mature approach Bonnyrigg have taken to the situation. Deserves plaudits.
  11. He's not the only one. For instance, I see that Neilly has popped up. Recall him implying the fans assaulted with golf clubs down at Stranraer deserved it because they were likely misbehaving themselves.
  12. Scullion will get hammered for this, rightly so. Unless something truly heinous has been said, its moronic walking up to the fans like that in the first place. Hurts to say because he has turned into an important player for us but he let himself and the club down yesterday. However, I do think spitting on him was an egregious escalation from that fan. Especially given, based on some of our recent match threads, League 2 consensus seems to be that fans should not rise to any baiting from opposition fans or players.
  13. You're obviously better just walking off and not getting yourself into trouble but I'm struggling to think of anyone I know that would judge Scullion negatively for punching him in retaliation
  14. On the face of it, another strange one from McCall, but I think he has been reading P&B midweek and looked to pack the team with grafters and runners (ETA: And Martin Rennie, who is our top scorer). Not sure of the formation. Think maybe starting 352, switch to 4231 if it's not working and then freshen things up with subs later on?
  15. You're definitely right but I'm sat down like the end of Brazil thinking that the precedent specifically relates to League 2 and no amount of sense will change my mind
  16. My sincere sympathies to any Dumbarton fan that saw this thread had gone hot last night and, like myself, thought Farrell was away.
  17. It's a not bad shout for this summer actually, given the SFA parachuted the last team to go tits-up then reform straight into League 2
  18. Good point, cheers for correcting. Did go to Forfar once and enjoyed the trip. Game was pretty boring though, so boring I forgot what surface it was played on! @the_bully_wee makes a good point I hadn't considered about last season too. Still a worrying statistic but maybe not as bad as it would seem at first.
  19. Happy/Hoping to be proven wrong but I think our last league win on grass was 20 April 2021 (3-1 vs Forfar)? Every away game we have between now and the end of season is on a grass pitch
  20. Committing a televised ethnic cleansing > Playing ex-Rangers players in a friendly over a decade ago. It's the world according to viking-TON!
  21. It can be both poor defending and unlucky that the ball falls right at the feet of an unmarked opposing player
  22. You'd hope the heads don't go down too much given both Forfar goals came from very fortuitous deflections
  23. Taking some comfort from the fact that, unlike Elizabeth Windsor, I am only figuratively in the mud this evening
  24. That's bitterly disappointing, especially having taken the lead and with the way other scores were at HT. We aren't done yet but I think anything other than a win next week and we will be. We're rapidly running out of next weeks. Congrats to Forfar for putting any lingering relegation worries to bed. Hasn't been a lot between the sides head to head this season. Difference is Forfar have been hard to beat, we're easy to beat. 24 points dropped from winning positions now.
