  1. Only got up for the third last night, missed all the goals and penalties but the Canucks were extremely tight at the back, something which has been missing during the regular season, helped of course by Luongo hitting top form at just the right time. Does anyone know of any youtube channels similar to this one for their respective teams? Highlights and interviews in HD which is far better than that which the NHL network or ESPN360 provides.
  2. Also means that the best 3/4 young players in the NHL will, barring extraordinary circumstances, be lining up in the East next season
  3. Isles are getting Tavares, or Hedman, but I reckon they'd be crazy to go with the latter, Tavares will be the best player in the NHL within 5 years.
  4. Predictions time chaps Sharks v DUCKS WINGS v Blue Jackets CANUCKS v Blues HAWKS v Flames BRUINS v Habs Caps v RANGERS DEVILS v Canes Pens v PHILLIES The last is the hardest to call of the lot, best potential for a classic I reckon although the Bruins v Habs rematch should be good, and I seriously pray I'm wrong in the Caps v Rangers one, but that is the most likely upset in the East I reckon. Anaheim is my upset in the West just because there is no way I'm making it the Canucks.
  5. Second NW title in three years, splendid stuff, and we can't face the Ducks which I'm rather chuffed about, would rather play CBJ than St Louis in Round 1 just because of the run St Louis are on but I think the Blues will be desperate to avoid the Sharks and overcome the Avs tonight to sneak into 6th. Flames will lose to Chicago.
  6. How is ESPN 360? Thinking of getting the playoff pass but I can't really afford to spend that much time staying up. What's it like for highlight packages compared to what is available for free anyway? Anyway, guess who is now top of the Northwest Division? Still a while to go but with Flames at home and having come out our road trip 4-2 I fancy our chances to hold onto it. We're 4th in the tsn power rankings and 6th with ESPN, feeling pretty good about this. Believe.
  7. Verdasco is a different player this season, don't think his run at the Aussie Open was a one off, expect him to be firmly established at the top end of the chasing pack by the end of this year. I would say the toughest QF draw Murray could have.
  8. Marty Turco gets what was coming to him. Canucks 5 Stars 2.
  9. NHL CenterIce is now available in Europe with ESPN360, £30 for all the playoff games and the rest of the regular season too, I would purchase this in an instant if it wasn't for the fact I have my uni finals coming up, but well worth a look for others if you didn't already know about it. Just with atdhe getting less reliable and stuff.
  10. I appreciate Murray was knackered and he probably doesn't really care about anyone other than number 1, but that was a very disappointing manner in which he lost last night. Being outclassed by Nadal in difficult conditions is one thing, but looking and playing like you'd rather be playing in the David Cup is an insult to the people that pay to show up and support such events.
  11. Canucks have overtaken the bombing Hawks and are 4th in the West! Win our game in hand and we'll be one point behind the Flames for the division, happy days. Although if the playoffs were to start tomorrow I'd rather be in 4th and play the Hawks than the Blue Jackets. Still the best form team in the NHL over the last 10 too.
  12. I do know that Murray still has issues with the LTA related to Jamie's development as a youngster, which is part of the reason he went to Spain. Not sure if this factors into his thinking, but it might.
  13. That Paul Paton one is the best lookalike ever. A little research reveals he is a star of Gossip Girl.
  14. Red Wings and Sharks become the first teams to confirm their playoff place and the Caucks are starting to ramp up the pressure on the two teams above us, won 9 straight at home but a tough road trip should stop us catching Calgary, but overtaking Chicago would be a big bonus.
  15. How much? You don't have a hope in hell of winning the Atlantic, sorry You're 11 behind NJ and they have 2 in hand.
  16. Beat San Jose at the weekend, significant given we've not beaten them in 2 years but I'm not going to read too much into it given the Sharks' absentees and recent form. Still, if Calgary and Chicago can keep up with results like last night we might just have a shot at improving upon our 5th in the West, best form team in the West and 2nd only to the Pens in the NHL over the last 10. Go Canucks Go! B)
  17. Tavares has broken all of Gretzky's junior scoring records, he'll be better than Crosby.
  18. They are tanking the season in the race for John Tavares and having a full scale rebuild, or at least that is their intention. Draft picks is what they're after.
  19. Trade deadline day, 1 and a half hours to go, surely this should be higher up the board? Anyway, Jokinen has just gone to Calgary for Lombardi, Prust and a 1st rounder. Can't say I know much about what they're losing but Calgary are looking pretty strong for making a serious Cup push this year. Also will presumably end Jokinen's record run of 780 games so far without a playoff appearance. Nasty. Canucks continue to look good with a couple of home wins, trying to trump the Flames with a move for Bouwmeester but I'm not sure who we're going to throw the other way unless Gillis goes back on his word and asks Ohlund to waive his NTC. Interesting.
  20. We officially own Canada. Sundin scored the shootout winner in Toronto, couldn't have scripted it any better. Looking pretty decent at the moment, feeling optimistic.
  21. Just for you: Canucks beat Sens 5-2, 2 out of 2 on our Canada road trip now.
  22. Did you go to sleep before the end or something? A really good game last night, some of the best goaltending I've ever seen from both, Kiprusoff made possibly the best save I've ever seen although Wellwood shouldn't have given him a chance. We've bounced back in style, the players are talking about making a run for the Division but I can't quite see it happening. The god in my signature (Ryan Kesler) is having an unbelievable run, 9 goals in 8 for someone who most thought was no better than a third liner.
  23. Pens have fired Therrien. Pretty shocked by this, I know they're having a terrible year considering the talent they have at their disposal but the push for Hossa has ended up costing them a bit this year along with a general Stanley Cup hangover. Thought he deserved more time but then I've not been following it that closely. PS Canucks beat Habs 4-2
