  1. Anyone got a few tops, all framed? Never been one for buying tops but quite fancy trying to build a collection and get them framed. Only thing stopping me is the fear of becoming obsessed and spending a fortune!! Would look cool right along my hallway. Hypnosis should sort out the wife.
  2. When we win this thing, is that us straight into the Europa League group stages. Seriously though, will be a good night under the lights, shouting and screaming for our 'plucky little band of players'. Underestimate us at your peril, Rangers!!
  3. We simply MUST hold onto him for the season. This season could be historic. Worst case scenario, even IF we ONLY just stay up on the last game of the season, it will have been worth it. We need to build up again as a club, with a bigger support, which will take time, but will not happen in league 1. Only a cracking at bigger teams, going for promotion to the top league and playing good football, over time, will see that happen. It has to be sustained. If Shanks goes, the rest might start looking elsewhere too, especially if the goals were to dry up, even for a short period. We have such a winning mentality throughout a gifted squad but, as with any great team, there is usually a figurehead. We must not let him go, not now, it's not time yet. He will go eventually, and he knows that, and we all know that, but he also knows he owes us one. And, make sure you drag all your family and friends to the game on Saturday. Bet on Shankland to score anytime, that should cover the costs of the entry fee. We NEED to support this team, we need this team. It is our drug!
  4. Hopefully he will feed off the rest of the boys. The more I think about it, the more I'm pleased with the point on Saturday. As some have said, there will be teams in our position who will come away with nothing. Not only did we win a point, but importantly it stopped ICT gaining all 3. I think the longer we can stay in the leading pack the better. We definitely have what it takes this season, just need the luck to go with it.
  5. I would actually laugh if he went to Dundee, proper laugh, real belly laugh.
  6. Dundee = top league, clinging by their fingertips, shite fans, shite ground, even worse stewards and an abomination of a manager. Dundee United = championship journeymen, still bigger than Dundee.
  7. Has there ever been such a pointless, meaningless team as Dundee? Talk about stuck in a rut! Only hope in life is being slightly less dug meat than the job lot along the street. Cup run? X League win? X Europe? X Top six? X Farmfoods reduced out of date cheap imported dugmeat.
  8. Still don't see a bid of £250k sealing the deal, North or south of the border. Think come 5pm today we will have him till January at least.
  9. What was the name of the tiny wee place up near the station where all the posh birds from Alloway and Doonfoot would congregate circa 1992/93/94? Would always be playing M-People etc
  10. Bonkers on a Sunday night. 18th birthday parties on a Thursday night (free tickets to get in from the birthday girl) at the Club-De-Mar. Hanger 13 a few Saturday nights to see TTF and Ultrasonic. Nile court TJ's under 18s Rabbies and Finlays back in the day. Bobby Jones puggies then Saturday night dancing.
  11. That moment when listening to Heart 80s, driving in between appointments, Tiffany, I think we're alone now, comes on. Roll on Saturday!!! Baked potato with butter, beans, cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Fresh apple juice with some ice.
  12. Shankland is here for the season and he is coming to bang you all!!!!! Shankland > Dobbie
  13. Would need to be a increase in his weekly pay packet, which is already subsidised I believe. The cash, I would imagine, is not there in the budget. Would need to be a strategy from the board to a). Warn off suiters. b). Reward Shanks. c). Increase the likelihood if a selling fee. From Shanks longer term point of view, I don't think he would go for it. Means less money for him if the purchasing club is paying a fee that feasibly he could end up with as a signing on fee (£300k in the wallet, thank you very much). Probable scenario I can see is he bangs in the goals, he more or less gets us to a position where we look safe, and he goes for a decent price in January to a club down south. Best scenario will be he sees the season out, we challenge at the top end (or dreams of dreams, we go up), and he wants to give it another go with us. Worst case scenario he goes somewhere dug meat in January like a Dundee or St Mirren (no offence), we get an OK fee, and he ends up with a team challenging at the wrong end of the prem. Pros. He is happy right now. He is scoring like mad right now. He is signed up till end of season. We are playing the RIGHT type of football with the RIGHT type of players that clearly suits his style. Cons He wants to play at a higher level. I do fear that it could go tits up for him if he picks the wrong club. I do believe that is why he signed for another year. Right now there is no better club out their for him to shine than Ayr. Shanks for a season in the championship - this season - this so super important season for us to stay up, full time football, consolidate etc. or a bag of cash - Shanks please His goals this season could be PRICELESS
  14. Team of a generation. Don't break it up. Tunes for the players coming out? Heroes - Bowie
  15. Club sell Shankland. We have no main striker (Moore still injured?). Half the AUFC500 fund subscribers cancel. No more season tickets get sold. The sky over Somerset darkens very quickly as disgruntled supporters label him a Judas, turn on the rest of the team in anger and start on McCall. Everything falls apart. Shanks goes in the summer. Keeps Ayr up. Goes off the pitch at Somerset with tears in his eyes, knowing he has played his last game for the team that rescued his career, the fans that adored him and a team that supported him back to his best. Fans applaud and sing his name, thanking him for his services, his goals and his part in keeping us up. Becomes a legend spoken about for decades to come. Goes on to a much bigger team and his shot at glory and financial security.
  16. All the players looked very comfortable on the ball yesterday, were settled in their surroundings and most certainly did not look out of place for a team just up against a team just down from the Prem. I think McCall can maybe smell a wee bit of cash from the next round to hopefully pay for another player. I really hope we can get between 2,000 and 3,000 home fans next week. I know it will be a big ask for a number of reasons, but this team is well worth it, deserve it and it will be great to show that we are a club to take seriously. Roll on Flag Day!!!
  17. Great time to be an Ayr fan, happy days. Draw tomorrow. I know a lot of you don't want Killie, but I do, with this team I really really do. If not, motherwell or hearts away
  18. I'm sure GM stated it was the biggest 'advertising deal' by far, as opposed to a 'sponsorship' deal which Ayre is paying for.
  19. It is actually the birth stone of colonel sanders, the inventor of KFC. His father invented the stamp works during the industrial revolution, was shipped over to the states to popularise his engineering skills while his son was in charge of the tea. Hence the finger lickin chicken
