  1. Well, the state pension can't be taken until the state retirement age is reached and it was the state pension he was referring to I think.
  2. Unless he's already a centenarian himself I think there's a fair chance that this may not happen!
  3. Might be hard to believe but Burton O'Brien was on over £2k per week (allegedly)
  4. Not to mention the fact that we'd have been paying Hartley & Young in any case.
  5. Dallison, Brough, McKee, Sammut, Irving, TOE, Turner, Lewis, Fasan and, to a certain extent, even McGhee all strike me as being pea hearts. Particularly disappointing in Irving's case as he has all the talent in the world but looks like he doesn't want to be here. I really got the impression that he wanted off before he was substituted on Saturday.
  6. I thought that there was a player in there somewhere. He at least provided some competition for places and I think he would have done a decent job if he had ever got fit. As things stand I would have last season's Welsh in the team right now!
  7. Thing was though that the short-term signings that Hartley made all looked not too bad. Nelson, Jakubiak and Longridge were all very good, Tumilty and Blair did a job and even Welsh added something. I think it was reasonable then that most of us assumed that he could spot a player and further assumed that the new signings would all be decent. It's mind boggling that they're all as poor as they are!
  8. Dinnae ken, never asked him. I think he comes home on holiday quite regularly though so probably just that.
  9. I met big Bomber Brown last night and asked if he would be up for a comeback. Sadly though, he feels that his best days are probably behind him. He was at the game yesterday and lets say that he wasn't very complimentary about the performance!
  10. Oh, you have an interest in Chelsea? Sorry, I should have realised, please accept my apologies. I didn't say anyone was booing the team out and I didn't say anyone should be clapping them off either.
  11. You're memory may be OK but your eyes seem fucked!
  12. So you've gone to the trouble of finding out how many Chelsea youths have been loaned out and to which clubs and then to see if they've been getting a game or not, all to show that Sammut's pish! Congratulations! Hopefully McKinnon's influence will have a positive effect on him and he'll start to improve (along with a few others). I think he needs encouragement though because the booing doesn't seem to have worked so far. Would be nice BTW if you could maybe say something positive just once in a while!
  13. Abrahams, ok, that's one, what about the rest? There could be a whole range of reasons why Sammut is at Falkirk, I don't think it's 'pretty obvious that we were the best offer he got' at all. Again, neither you or I have any idea why he's here. Certainly, he doesn't seem to be up to the physical side of the Scottish game, at least not so far, so it's perhaps possible that Chelsea felt that playing up here may toughen him up a bit? One thing that I think is pretty obvious though is that it's giving you something to moan about so that's got to be a positive for you! Sammut, along with several others, hasn't been up to it so far but we're stuck with them until January at least. We've got a new manager that's going to have to try to raise their morale and confidence to attempt to get a return out of them and we all need to get behind what he's trying to do. Sadly though, instead of encouraging the team we've got hundreds of dicks in the support that'll boo as soon as the first pass goes astray which, in turn, will probably mean that certain heads will go down making his task all the harder!
  14. So they're all doing ok are they? You've been following their progress I take it? Maybe we got Sammut because Hartley managed to persuade Chelsea that it was a good move for the laddie rather than going to another EFL club, who knows?
  15. Aye, as opposed to good players who don't try and therefore may be deserved to be booed, these (most) are poor players who certainly won't become any better if they're getting pelters. We need to try to encourage them as much as we can then keep our fingers crossed!
  16. Well, that kinda saved me from posting something similar. Fact is, none of these guys are going anywhere anytime soon so we need to try to get as much out of them as we can in the meantime. Berating them wouldn't achieve that I don't think.
  17. I don't think he has. I think Shodwall is getting confused with the boy Smith that they signed from Hearts and who played with St Mirren last season.
  18. They had 4 players booked and should have had one of them sent off. They constantly looked to waste time and niggle as often as they could to try to break up the play. There was little doubt that this had been coached into them by the two wankers on the touchline though. The manager spent a lot of his time gesticulating towards our dug out, keeping the ball at throw ins etc while the assistant, who was a total baw bag, turned to goad the fans on several occasions. At one point though he tried to stop Muirhead getting to the ball to take a throw, resulting on him being left on his fat arse. Best bit about the whole game actually.
  19. Looks lost much of the time and hasn't impressed so far. Got to imagine there's a player in there somewhere given his pedigree though and hopefully McKinnon will be able to bring that out.
