A few weeks back, sure it was as mentioned, think also interview with FH (STBC)

Ah, just the way you worded your sentence saying that he said 'he was after a few players that are quality' that made me think he had players in mind rather than saying he had space left for more signings.

MCGlynns signings have been fantastic and that’s why we’re champions and still unbeaten. If it’s true about McKenna and he’s a target so be it. I just think at 33 he may be a risk, but it’s all about opinions.
For me looking at the amount of players that are going to be either released or out of contract, I’m sure McGlynn will find some gems - as in his words he’s after a few players that are quality. After his signings so far (apart from a couple) I’ve no concerns he will be successful.

I've missed that. When did he say that and was there any indication of possible names?

I don't see all the players mentioned staying tbh. I'd love to see Yeats, Ross and Tait stay but I think one possibly two out the three won't. Yeats I think is waiting to see if he gets a better offer, Ross might not want to play second fiddle and on a decent wage at Raith. Tait will be on decent money at Hibs and has a year left. Are Shanley and Mackie good enough for the championship? Not so sure but they'd probably be the easiest to retain, then you've got the conundrum of what to do with Jordan Allan. Still think we need an experienced keeper. As much as I'm happy to see Spencer sign an extension he still had a year left and the years wage he just signed could have went to someone else, but McGlynn will probably know what kind of budget he's playing with for next season.

So you want us to bin Spencer the season after next? Cause that's when he'll be paid for the extension, it won't come out of next season's budget.

As much as this is a joke Fulton would genuinely be a good signing for Falkirk given in goals is clearly the weakest area of the Grangemouth Galaticos.

He’s out of contract at the end of the season so I suspect he’ll be gone if we don’t get through the play offs. Only negative is he is made of glass.

Is Fulton still injured? He's been on the bench for weeks now.

  5. Canny make up my mind what team I'd like to see here.

I think Donaldson looked a wee bit tired last Saturday and deserves a wee rest, but we don't really have a replacement, unless Hendo's comfortable using his right foot (which he's not). Tait's the man in form and will be busting a gut to show Accies what they're missing, however I can see some of their players trying to wind him up, which could be problematic. Miller hasn't been just quite as effective recently, so maybe a chance for Ross?

    Feck it - unchanged team!

    Right Back
With Keelan Adams on a 2 year deal the management team will expect him to be challenging for that position.
If we get Finn Yeats to sign a contract we will have for the first time for a while competition for the Right Back spot plus Yeats versatility for a midfield roll. Should we consider that position covered?
With few players incoming it would be good to have a long standing position issue off the list.
    Thoughts?

Aye, the constant 17:30 KO times are less than ideal, but Alba just needed to get their Box Office Bairns fix! What's the Gaelic for "Get it right up yeez Accies"?

You're no wrong! Not to mention all the merch I've also bought over that period. The club should have just automatically taken the money out my bank account when they announced the 1991 away shirt. Would have saved me the hassle 🤣

Fair points. It was never in any doubt that I was going, however. I'm skint but I just love following this team so much. These players have a real connection with the supporters and it's just awesome to see it.

Faigh e deas suas thu accies!

  8. They've already hit 65 points which is only two below our total last season and match the current totals of Dundee Utd and Stenny (who've already won L2), with 4 games still to play!

Hamilton fans may not like Rankin's style of play, but I feel that they've got a similar sense of entitlement that some of our fans had when we first came down! It's not as easy as they seem to think it should be.

Could do a lot worse than give the home fans a voucher for £? off at the first home game of the season.

A thank you and an inducement for those that are just coming for the occasion to go again. Bound to be a % pick up that will become afflicted to 'Expect the Unexpected'

Unsure if that would be allowed? I'm sure there's a rule that states that clubs must charge both sets of fans the same amount.

I think it quite possibly was offside. The keeper is out far enough so that when miller heads the ball forward to MacIvor he's more than likely off. Who gives a feck though.

MacIver was offside unless Miller headed the ball backwards toward him?

It’s pretty clear the club so far under fan ownership is being better run now both on and off the park than it probably has been for the best part of 20 years, bearing that in mind and while it’s obviously not a priority there could well be unexplored options regarding a 4th stand or structure over that side of the stadium that could be done either cost neutral or within a budget potentially generating the club an income 7 days a week longer term and/or allowing us not be at the mercy of council charges for use of the corporate catering areas in the main stand. Despite not being an immediate priority it definitely should be part of the clubs longer term thinking and should not be swept aside as an afterthought.

I agree with pedro :o in as much as it shouldn't be no.1 priority currently, however, it would be folly not to keep our ear to the ground in the event that something may come up that could be explored. Our immediate priority has been achieved, so we need to look further ahead now to consider ways that we could make the club stronger long term. Just building another stand, terracing or anything else should be a non-starter however unless it's also an income generating facility.

It was actually your fans talking about Morton which caused me to click on the thread. What I can draw from the last few threads is that Falkirk take 10,000 fans to away games and won the league on a tiny, shoe string budget that would put the riches of Hamilton, Cove and Queen of the South to shame. And on that note, I think I'll leave you to it.

Good day to you. Thank you x

it doesn't surprise me in the least that these are the conclusions that you've drawn TBH.

Considering there’s barely been any significant away numbers at the TFS, (SA & Accies arguably) pretty impressive stats. At least we’ll have decent away numbers next year, which hopefully contributes a decent wedge of the shortfall cash.

It wouldn't surprise me if our average away attendance was under 100 when you take into account the numbers that EC, Annan, Cove, Kelty and Montrose have brought. Certainly under 150 I would think.

  14. 23 minutes ago, Aufc said:

Montrose will almost certainly be better off compared to this season. Arbroath is a derby so will get two decent crowds. The first game against Falkirk this season moved to mid week due to cup game so reduced everything. Assuming the same doesn’t happen next season with one of the derbies

Lots of falkirk fans said it. I found it hard to believe. I also find it hard to believe cove have a bigger budget. If they did then they would surely be out of business

How do you think Ross County have been able to pay the wages they've been paying to the players they've attracted?

  15. 30 minutes ago, Aufc said:

Lowest budget in the league and sitting 4th (albeit we have dropped down after losing against Ayr but two games in hand). Won the challenge cup. Won league cup group. Reached 5th round in Scottish cup (falkirk got beat by Bonnyrigg in previous round).

Fair play if you go unbeaten but your budget is significantly larger than almost every team in the league. It is not a huge shock that you are walking the league.

Christ, I thought you were at the wind up too!!

What a day! Seen us win a few Division 1 titles in my time but today I got to enjoy a day out with my 8 year old son and my father in law watching us stroll towards the title.

I'll openly admit on here that after spending 6 seasons refereeing on saturdays I fell out of love with football for a few seasons and even when I did go to games I couldn't have cared less about the result. My son has now got into football in the last two seasons and I'm loving the time we get together. Hearing him singing Falkirk songs when he wakes up and goes to bed this week, celebrating with him today when the title was confirmed then being on the pitch at the end are things I will remember for the rest of my days.

We've now watched the goals on Alba twice since we got home and seen footage on social media of the players in BTW tonight. A great day to be a Falkirk fan.

Thank you to John McGlynn, Paul Smith, the coaching staff, players and BoD for the direction the club is now heading. The Ultras/Young Team have made a massive difference and deserve a lot of credit, seeing fully grown men - some of whom seemed to be in their 70's - on the pitch singing and celebrating was brilliant and shows the togetherness around the club.

    Cheeky b*****d, I'm only 66!

Sorry, in a testimonial, aye, if we are still undefeated at the last game and we have a chance of going through an entire season undefeated, then no. One keeper for the entire 90 minutes.

Depends on the score. If its relatively tight, bring long on towards the end.
