  1. Went to Nandos for the first time today and I can't understand why it's so popular, I thought it was rotten.
  2. I'd imagine it would be next week for tutorial sign up but who knows We will need to make sure we get Andy Judge again this year for the politics tutorials, if he's still doing them that is!
  3. Anyone at Strathclyde know what the deal is in regards to regestering etc for second year? Done the online registration on pegasus however thought I might have been sent some kind of info in regards to timetables and the like by now?
  4. This is the first time I've had to borrow money in a year and it's hit right at the same time, just before uni starts when the savings have been depleted and my part-time wage just doesn't cut it.
  5. I'm so skint I've had to borrow money off of my dad to see me through to the end of the month. Not good.
  6. I did Economics in first year and it was the subject I enjoyed the most as the lectures are (on the most part) interesting and you do a group project in the second semester which is pretty good. However, because it is in the buisness department it is worth a different amount of credits which meant that I had to pick a fourth subject as opposed to the usual 3. It's only for the first semester you need to do 4 subjects though so you can go back to the normal 3 in the second semester. That's another thing, I chose law as one of my other subjects for the first semester and unless you really want to take the course further then don't pick that either as it's an awful lot of work for the most boring part of the law course, legal methods.
  7. I can only comment on politics as I didn't do history. Really not much to it in first year, if you go to most of the lectures and get your essays done to a decent standard you shouldn't have a problem. Also, don't waste your money on the books they tell you to buy, I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I used them throughout the year. Your meeting with the advisor of studies will be to pick your other subject as you need to do 3 in social subjects. I got strongly advised from someone on p&b NOT to do sociology yet I went ahead and picked it. Worst decision of my first year, I urge you not to do the same
  8. I just can't watch 'the bird is the word' episode of Family Guy one more time. I just can't.
  9. I've seen both of tonights episodes far too many times, decided to opt for a repeat of the inbetweeners instead.
  10. People that organise a day out only to change the plans at 10:52pm the night before meaning both my girlfriend and I can't make it.
  11. Is anyone going into 2nd year economics at strathclyde? Or has anyone done it? I'm on the provisional curriculum page and there is 2 optional classes for next year, Economics of Firms And Industries and International Trade And Development. Swithering over what one to pick as I really can't find much information on what the classes involve, has anyone done either of these who would be able to tell me a bit about them?
  12. You should have just replied 'too late' to give her a wee fright.
  13. I'm working 9-6:30 tomorrow. This wouldn't bother me if I was doing something worthwhile but giving out shoes to people for that lenght of time really does not appeal to me. Roll on Uni starting back...
  14. Took my girlfriend away for the weekend since it was her birthday, I've just had a look at my bank account after it. Oh dear.
  15. My sat nav got stolen from the glove compartment in my car today. The thought of a wee ned taking something from my car in the middle of the night angers me but the jokes on them as when they go to use it they will realise said sat nav is 6 years old and 7/10 routes you pick will inevitably end up in a newly built housing estate.
  16. Just had a wee look at them and the Dunblane Hydro seems really nice. Right enough they seem to have some pretty good deals on the go too! I'd probably say looking for somewhere reasonably luxurious since it's just for a couple of days
  17. Looking to go away for the weekend at the end of July since it's my girlfriends birthday. Not really wanting to venture out of Scotland though and was just wondering if anyone has some recommendations of nice places/hotels to go to?
  18. Went out for dinner last night and I now appear to have food poisoning. I had to come home from work today and I can no longer even drink some water without it making an unwelcomed appearance 20 minutes later
  19. Finally got my results. 75 for economics, 71 for politics and 64 for the much hated sociology so I'm pretty pleased
