  1. Only 1 so far. I’m not convinced Beuker and Veldman see lots of experience as a necessary asset to be honest. Lack of players who had competed in a title race clearly let us down last season IMO, but I think squad wise this will be the first year we see a group more representative of what the ‘new model’ is supposed be.
  2. Lesser will make a fine ground for everything other than the first team in its current form. I’ve shifted my assumptions and now guessing the only goal has been, and will continue to be, getting us back into Hampden long term with this coming year being the start of it. How that might translate into a favourable agreement for us I’m not sure, but at least with Lesser we have an asset to bargain with. Plenty to be frustrated about but on the positives, liked what I heard from Veldman. Coyle always talked the talk in interviews about youth development etc but Veldman does seem like he’s on exactly the same page as Beuker which can only be a good thing.
  3. Not sure how much more of this I can handle but fair play to Davidson, Longridge and Jarrett today. Davidson been continually in and out the side all season but had a good second half in midfield and right back. Longridge having played next to nothing coming into a position he hasn’t traditionally played to do a decent job. Similar story with Jarrett not having much game time but still looking sharp and chasing everything down to good effect. Clear Coyle has got the whole squad invested which is what we need. A draw between Ayr and Dundee Tuesday would leave us 6 points clear and back on the same amount of games played, mental times.
  4. Thomas does even better for the third than I remember. Some player
  5. Bit of a different episode on the podcast this week. Simon Murray got in touch with us as he wanted to give a bit of background on his move to Ross County. We also have a good chat about the rest of his time with Queen’s for those interested!
  6. What stand should away fans be buying tickets for on the website?
  7. I think we were lucky to get him back this year to be honest, and given he came back on a one year contract probably reflects his ambitions. Doubt he’d be here if Coyle and promotion didn’t happen. Being able to prove this year that he’s just as good as we would have hoped in the Championship will open up even more doors for him. He’s one of the ones who we should be offering those premium Gretna Glasgow dollars to if they’e available, especially if we do manage to go up.
  8. I’d just assumed Coyle had done a separate interview to the one I seen after the game when I heard about this, Dodds is impressively rattled.
  9. Wasn’t at the game but that save from Ferrie from the header is as good as I’ve seen this season, cracking stop.
  10. There’s a pretty obvious difference between denying we’re spending money, which no one is doing, versus arguing about the sustainability of the model Queen’s are going for vs Gretna. Gretna and ourselves clearly have spent a shedload of cash. Gretna piled it into experienced first team players, we have spent on mostly younger players who might yield a return down the line, and the back end infrastructure to try and make it sustainable. Whether it works or not is anyone’s guess but no one is dim enough to pretend we’re not spending significant cash as you seem to be so desperate to suggest.
  11. Another week of being dumbfounded at the standard of football we’re watching. Logic says we will have a blip eventually but it’s really hard to see when at this point. This season has easily been the most entertaining football I’ve watched with Queen’s, long may it continue.
  12. This level of confidence and expectancy is making me dizzy and nervous. ‘New’ manager for Cove will probably have some impact but got to be hopeful for a Queen’s win. I’m not convinced of their current defensive options and our front three are our biggest assets. No squad changes for me.
  13. We provide a little tribute to unhappy away fans at the start of this weeks podcast episode
  14. If you said to me this time last year Lee Kilday would be having one of the games of his life to put us top of the Championship I’d have questioned your sanity. He’s done so, so well this year and today was no different. Thistle are a good side but yet again Queen’s players stepping up in big moments. Fair play to Coyle’s subs too. Great from Jarrett and continues his good form whenever he gets the chance.
  15. Also just to add, Arbroath still holding top spot for away trips this season. Cant fault it (despite the weather) and if Queen’s can do anything to emulate those steak and black pies when we get to Lesser I’d be a happy man.
  16. Standard of passing football from Queen’s in those conditions is absurd. January will be tough but couldn’t have put ourselves in better form going into it.
  17. This a million times over, absolute Rolls-Royce of a player and if he isn’t at a higher level next season I’d be amazed.
  18. Wild the difference Fox’s ability on the ball makes coming out from the back, easily our first choice CB.
