We seem to have entered a period (pioneered by Pep) where your standard full back - of which Tierney is a glowing example - Is almost redundant.
Watching the Brentford-Spurs game and Ange is using his "right back" in midfield and his "left back" is really a centre-back.
Just like Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool are now doing.
I wouldn't be all that surprised to see Liverpool sign a left-centre back now, which might see Robbo consigned to the bench.
I reckon the odds of us bringing in another striker are between zero and nowt.
Clearly on a cost-cutting exercise and after the opening day win, probably feel emboldened to go it like this.
Not a chance in hell.
It's not technique.
He's just breaking into their team (at 17). Getting used to the runs your teammates make and where they want the ball will come quickly enough.
Watched the game tonight. When he's got the ball at his feet and is one on one, the defender doesn't stand a chance.
Love Gilmour, but I haven't been this excited by a Scottish kid since... ever!
Obviously won't get too excited as Arbroath did look really bad, but there's been promising signs ever since the Peterhead game.
Moult is the key signing. Let's pray he can stay fit.
I've always been a bigger fan of McMann than most, so delighted by how he has started the season.
What a weird spell Mulgrew had.
In his first season, he was a rock at the back, bringing much-needed leadership.
Then one close-season later, his legs had gone, making him a liability and apparently causing chaos behind the scenes.
Quite.
The clips I've seen of him playing for the Scotland youth teams were very promising on the 'final ball' element. Obviously its a step up, but its not like he's really weak there.
It'd take any player time playing alongside the like of Darwin Nunez to know exactly where he wants the ball, let alone a kid.
He's got the strength to bounce off opponents like they're not there and his pace and speed of turn is incredible.
If he can improve on his final ball (which he obviously will given his age) he could be genuinely world class.
I'm all in favour of rehabilitation and given how Gallagher has rebounded since spending time inside, I'm happy to have him on board.
I once played fitba with a guy who'd just got out of jail for stabbing - top bloke apart from that
Rapists on the other hand Nah, my sympathies don't extend quite that far.
