Had a bit of luck with a patent on horses at Cheltenham yesterday (2 winners - Big Bucks and Cill Rialaig, other one was nowhere) so going to try my luck with another one today: 1.00 Folkestone - Ruby Crown 2.35 Folkestone - Bluegun 3.40 Folkestone - Mount Benger Should hopefully pass the afternoon at work a bit quicker.

Can't see past Kauto for the King George. Just looking to find something else to double it with on Boxing Day definitely plenty races to pick from, although whether thats a good thing is very debateable!

Yeah thanks for the shout guys I'll put a bet on it at lunch, might make it my only bet of the day as trying to be semi sensible this month

3 day comp sounds fun to me. Although maybe less so when I'm hungover tomorrow Only took 2 today: William Butler 2.25 Uttoxeter- a horse that was very impressive back in July, hopefully doesn't unseat the rider at the first today! Galeota 2.35 Donny. 3/3 at the course and proven on the going.

DJP's tip looks solid enough, might put a wee bit on it. On initial looks 3 horses caught my eye: Bold Account in the 2.30 at Hamilton Kafuu 2.55 at Chester Prelude 5.10 at Chester First horse I just liked the look of, Kafuu was a horse that I got given last year so normally just stick a wee bit on it when it runs. Prelude I noticed in the first place because the trainer has 4 horses in the same race and his son (well I'm assuming its his son) is on this one. Looked into it a bit more and its last 4 wins have been over C&D and its dropped in class. might end up with a lucky 15 on those 3 plus DJP's shout.

Just been having a look through the SL racecards and noticed in the first at Ayr Mark Johnstons horse Tartan Gunna was forecast at 8/1 and is now priced at 11/4- not that the SL wbsite is the most accurate. Will have more of a look at in the bookies at lunchtime but thinking I might follow the cash there.

Was impressed with its performance at Newcastle on Saturday so hoping for a quick repeat under no penalty and the same jockey.

Yep- can't see past Henry in the 3.30 but unbackable at the odds unless your playing with big stakes. One more horse in the field would have been nice though as it would have paid out on 3 places. I'm heading to bookies at lunch to pick out my horses for today- got to be better than yesterday's.

Back to the form study tomorrow then!

Thanks for the input I'm just back from the bookies so just read it and I had already stuck my cash on Overwing- hope I'm not regretting that later. Agreed that there will be better shouts for only having 1 bet on but after being stung so many times after looking through form etc I've decided to see how my instincts get on over the next couple of weeks. No doubt I will go back to studying form in the future though as its the best way of finding a winner just not been a good few weeks with it recently

Going to try yesterday's tactic and only have the 1 bet again today. Unfortunately I am stuck between two though: Overwing in the 3.45 @ Warwick or Lieutenant Pigeon in the 4.20 at the same track. I think Overwing might just get the nod.

Sadly I didn't bother backing it as drinking seemed more important than betting. Double the reason for regretting that this morning Was due a win though and 7/1 was a rather nice price for it.

One bet so far today- Topazes won @ 4/1. Thinking that I might bet Pawan tonight as well - 7.35 @ Warwick. Due to go up 7lbs soon and was close to winning at the weekend.

So near. Yet so far. Unlucky. My day was not good either. 2 x £2.50 doubles Profitability WON @ 10/3 & Hula Ballew 4th @ 9/2 Military Cross WON @ 6/1 & Lady Rangali 2nd @11/4 I need to stop doing doubles.

I might be wrong here DJP but was it Cruel Sea that you were had backed at big odds for the Oaks? Just that I'm sure I saw its running later on in the week at Ascot (possibly tomorrow)

1 bet today. Borderlescott 3.35 Salisbury. A horse that I always back, last year was more than a little frustrating with it but rewarded me twice out of 2 runs this year (I had only bet on it to be placed when it finsihed 2nd to Fleeting Spirit last time out).

I didn't notice that was running today. Is Quinn in the saddle? i've bet a double today: Celtic Step 2.50 York Naval Review 3.50 Sandown Had a look at the Noseda / Dettori horse- (Kingsgate Spirit maybe?) but with it being priced at 4/7 scrubbed it.

Another horse from Fallon today. Warringah in 4.55 at Newbury. Won't be near a bookies so won't be betting.
