Salt n Pepper doner kebab. Was pretty good, better without sauce.

Not had a doner in ages. Place down town does a cracking tomato/chilli/coriander hot sauce. Prefer that to the usual garlic sauce.

Garlic sauce is the standard on a kebab where you live?

I have. There's some mental stuff in there.

I once bought a kebab in Manchester and the guy asked if I wanted sauce. I said aye but nothing too spicy (he had an array of dozens). He proceeded to blooter it in this creamy garlic sauce/mayo effort.

The whole lot went in the nearest bin after trying. Vile.

That was more than 15 years ago btw, so you can see how this scarred me.

Yup. Garlicy mayo sauce shouldn't be on a kebab. Decent chilli sauce all the way.

Has anyone ever had Toum? It's literally an emulsion if raw garlic and oil made in a similar way to mayonnaise.  Absolutely blows your head off but highly addictive.

Just aioli. I use it as a dip for tempura prawns.

I was doing some recipe research and found this. It's called cockentrice and is a genuine recipe. Looks more at home in the taxidermy thread.Cockentrice-1.jpg
