kiddy
Heard there was some form of protest today? MT finish on the Col du Portet, after the Peyresourde & Val Louron-Azet. The other GC 'Contenders' really want to roll the dice & attack Pogacar, forcing him to cover an opponents attack, then going over the top as soon as he's pulled any attack back. Stake your top 5 GC place, or a podium, for the chance to take the 'Golden Fleece'. Put him under pressure to cover everything himself. Most likely they'll shit themselves & give him an easy finish on a plate. Edited July 14, 2021 by kiddy
kiddy
Rafa Majka realing in a 3 min break on the last climb for UAE. Then Pogacar goes with 8.5km to go "He just can't help himself" says Carlton Kirkby. Nae kiddin. Edited July 14, 2021 by kiddy
buddie06smfc
Looks like some arsehole has been shining a laser on to the lead group most of the way up this last mountain.
Mr. Brightside
Big fan of Pogacar just holding Carapaz' wheel there. Some effort from Vingegaard.
kiddy
Might have to hang on a few years for the GC result of this tour.
buddie06smfc
Bahrain Victorious’ hotel raided by French police, bus searched and training files requested. They’ve had a number of good results this year between Giro, Dauphine & Tour. I wonder what is under investigation. Apparently they have been monitored since last year.
buddie06smfc
Wiggins is a fud on the back of that bike. He’s beyond parody now, Eurosport need rid of him. I don’t know why they wheel him out for these grand tours. He’s just after calling Richard Carapaz ‘David Carapaz’. Bernie Eisel was so much better. He’s a fud off the back of the motorcycle too.

Agreed, really should be reminded every day that his only GT victory came off the back of Froome being stopped.
kiddy
Anybody else getting echoes of Lance off Pogacar & the way he's been conducting himself? Lot of talk being spouted, on Eurosport, about him 'gifting' todays stage to Vingegaard off the back of yesterdays racing by Carapaz..

Colbrelli's performances in the mountains ringing obvious alarm bells.

btb
Same 1,2,3 as yesterday - Pogacer's been in control since he took yellow on Stage 8. Cav & 4 team mates bringing up the rear and making sure the master is in top shape for the two sprint stages to come.

The breakaway, including Ballerini, is nearly 7 minutes ahead of the peloton. Cav said that his team would rest in the peloton after getting him over the mountains. It's up to Bike Exchange and Israel Start-up Nation to chase the breakaway and it's hard to see them doing that now. Jasper Stuyven is one of the fastest in the breakaway and would my tip if it comes to a sprint. Van Moer and Pollit are likely to attack at some point. It's difficult to predict the outcome.

After Cav winning 4/4 sprint finishes none of the other teams seem to be willing to help him & DQT, it might be that way again on Sunday. Quickstep will not need help on Sunday. They will not be riding hard in tomorrow's time trial to conserve energy for Paris. The final stage is flat, short and much easier to control. it would be fantastic for Cav to break Merckx's record on the Champs Elysees.
