Desert Nomad
Romain Bardet took out the exact same stage in the Dauphine last month, incredible descending: https://youtu.be/U36X0gsdrgQ
peasy23
If Movistar want to win this tour, then they will have to tell one of their two GC riders to sacrifice his chances for the other one IMO. Still a chance for them with the climbs in the next 4 days.
peasy23
Van Garderen looks done, he's off the back for the second time today. Edit: He's abandoned, clearly sick. Edited July 22, 2015 by peasy23
peasy23
Contador the big loser after a crash/mechanical on a descent, rest of the contenders pretty much crossed the line together.
AberdeenBud
TJVG must be distraught. Good chance of being the first American on the podium since LA.
Bishop Briggs
Contador lost two minutes in the GC this afternoon. Mollema lost a similar amount of time. Geraint Thomas could be much closer to third if he had not held back on a couple of stages.
kiddy
Surprised Pinot didn't have a brown streak up those white shorts.
Sarto Mutiny
Fans of train wrecks might enjoy the interview with David Walsh from Off The Ball tonight https://soundcloud.com/offtheball/david-walsh-on-chris-froome-and-lance-armstrong ETA: not that Off The Ball, obviously Edited July 22, 2015 by Sarto Mutiny
FlyerTon
Looking at the three remaining Alps stages, we have: Thursday: Friday: And the stage to Alpe D'Huez the day before the finish in Paris: Thursday's stage takes in the Col du Glandon, last in the Tour in 2013 and before that 2004. Incidentally, that video will be the side of the Glandon they will be descending on Thursday. The pass of the Col du Glandon is usually closed between the start of November and mid May. Seems he now knows very little about anything. Getting ripped apart on Twitter as well.
Sarto Mutiny
As the journalist who had it in for Armstrong almost more than any other and detailed it all in his book, Seven Deadly Sins, he's now losing credibility at an alarming rate. Seems he now knows very little about anything. Getting ripped apart on Twitter as well. Mainly by me The interview with Paul Kimmage from a couple of days earlier is pretty scathing, when he refers to the Times as a Sky fanzine, or words to that effect. And to think how close the two of them were during the Armstrong years.
peasy23
Worst part of this year's Tour must be those brutally dubbed Alpecin adverts.
peasy23
Today's final climb, only 3k but has some parts at 15% and has 17 corners.

kiddy
How can anyone watch ITV4, Ligget & Sherwin are terrible! Fugelsang gets knocked off by one of the moto outriders, identified by the replay, & they STILL miss it.
Musketeer Gripweed
Looking at the three remaining Alps stages, we have: Thursday: And the stage to Alpe D'Huez the day before the finish in Paris: Has the Galibier been ditched for sure then? Pity, I love that mountain. Great stage today, enjoyed it far more than I was expecting to. Glad to see one one my picks finally getting the win, and the French finally coming good at last. Quintana for the win tomorrow. It's now or never wee man. Edit :- Will someone on Twitter please tell Kelly there is no such fucking word as slided. Thanks in advance. kiddy
Pretty sure the road surface of the Galibier was the reason for its exclusion. That was only a month or two back http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/jun/25/tour-de-france-organisers-stage-20-col-du-galibier-landslide Edited July 23, 2015 by kiddy
Musketeer Gripweed
They were still debating it today. I know there were issues with the surface, but I am pretty sure they have been resolved and it was to be included. Landslides have been an issue in the area as well, so who knows. Jono is having a brioche recipe tomorrow. Get in.
peasy23
The article I read last week was more about the fear of further landslides rather than anything to do with the road surface.
kiddy
Edit :- Will someone on Twitter please tell Kelly there is no such fucking word as slided. Thanks in advance. Can mind of a descent on one stage, a year or so back, when Kirkby mentioned about riders coming off at a corner "due to oil or grease on the road". Only for Kelly to reply "oh, dat'll be the cow shoite". Used to love his arguments with David Duffield over Bianchi's colours being Celeste, & not 'Bianchi Blue' as Duffers would drone on about, when talking about Fausto Coppi.
