thisGRAEME
Was just mulling this over this morning. How are you going, prices etc? Edinburgh - Charleroi and then Brussels int - Gatwick cause I'm in London that weekend. About £50. Looking at air bnb options in lille. Tickets is the big gamble. Kind of given up on the idea of getting an away end brief, so trying to figure out how to get a home end.
Gall09
Were a section of Everton fans not wanting rid of Naismith for a while last season? Sure I remember him getting booed after coming on as a sub one game. He's been terrific anytime I've seen him recently. One of Everton's main men now.

Well one of the Everton fans I work with thought as much, along with Gareth Barry. He quickly changed his mind, when they both become key players.
thisGRAEME
Was just mulling this over this morning. How are you going, prices etc? Got home end tickets last night. Thirty Euros for tickets to all three of Lille's European games is hilariously cheap, I mean, I'm only going to one, but nonetheless... Should be around a hundred quid for the trip, maybe £150 once I've tacked on travel when I get there. So if anyone wants a ticket to Lille - Krasnodar or Lille - Wolfsburg, let me know.
jamamafegan
Plans for new stadium released http://www.evertonfc.com/56912/56913/council-club-statement Thoughts on this? I'm a Goodison "die-hard", I'd hate to see Everton leave. Goodison Park, although old, is one of the finest stadiums for atmosphere. It's a historic ground and I've always wanted it to see it renovated to make it more modern and increase capacity. It's not going to happen though obviously, the club has looked elsewhere for new sites for years - and money is tight. If the proposed new stadium was a near carbon copy of Goodison with tiers similar to now (without the pillars), tight to the pitch and a towering main stand I'd be quite happy. What I don't want to see is a soulless bowl or boring style modern ground.

Still confused at Jimmy Mc's choice of national team.... COYB Great result, but an average performance. Wolfsburg totally dominated the second half and only an outstanding MOM performance from Tim Howard kept us in the game. I'm still delighted we won.

Wolfsburg totally dominated the second half and only an outstanding MOM performance from Tim Howard kept us in the game. I'm still delighted we won. Yes, he showed his world cup form there like. Not sure that they deserved to score five like but it was a great start to our campaign. We still seem to be suffering from nerves at the back at times but hey ho, it's certainly entertaining Can't wait for the away leg.
bowmore
More shoite defending/goalkeeping today!!!! The contrast to last season in that respect is profound and frustrating. Ah well, it has been a mental weekend results wise.

Sure I remember him getting booed after coming on as a sub one game. He's been terrific anytime I've seen him recently. One of Everton's main men now. He wasn't flavour of the month for a while in his first season under Moyes. Though he was still coming back from the injury he sustained at Rangers to be fair to him so it did take a while for him to adjust. Under RM though he has flourished - Martinez is getting the best out of him. One of my mates is a season ticket holder at Goodison and has been going since the 80s. He said to me he believes Naismith is the best he's seen for Everton in the 'number 10' role. Says a lot about how well Naismith has done. As for yesterday, three howling mistakes cost the team. Defensively things need to improve.
54_and_counting
As for yesterday, three howling mistakes cost the team. Defensively things need to improve. Martinez has never been able to coach defending going by his time at wigan also, if the defenders arent already good, experienced players his teams tend to struggle in games, and single player howlers like the other day come about

Fairplay to the lad though, he's stuck at it and proved that he is a valuable member of the team. He is also building up something of a cult following here (in Liverpool) All great Everton teams have had Scottish heroes in them so its only fitting and a good sign \o/

Larbert_Par
Bump. Was down at the Swansea match on Saturday and it was one of those games where the team huffed and puffed but never looked like breaching their defence - Rom's sliding chance at the very end was as good as it got. Baines' (and the team generally) delivery from set piece situations was absolutely diabolical so that didn't help. Naismith wasn't firing on all cylinders, neither was Ross Barkley. Alcaraz got away with it big style in terms of conceding a penalty first half but he was absolutely clotheslined by Bony, who was lucky not to see red, while Kopshite Shelvey could've gone a lot sooner. On the positive, the team look a lot more solid defensively than at the start of the season. With Stones injured, losing Alcaraz is a blow simply as there's a lack of bodies in the centre of defence. Would expect Distin to come in tomorrow night, probably see Hibbert at right back too. Going down tomorrow and looking forward to it - I think a win will put us very close to qualifying from the group. Lille showed enough in the first game to suggest it'll be difficult. Looks to be a fair few tickets left so won't be close to a sell out, which is disappointing. Also bagged a ticket for Sunderland away on Sunday. Must be mad especially with a trip to Peterhead to watch the Pars on Saturday
