But the change to four-clubs-in-the-play-offs was more likely to disadvantage Rangers - at least from the perspective of a year or so ago. Did anyone really see them finishing third or fourth rather than first or second? Apart from the more perceptive members of this forum, of course.

Every perceptive member knew they'd croak when they faced full-time opposition, I'd say the SPFL knew this too when they made the reconstruction and made provisions just in case it did actually happen and Sevco struggled to even reach third in the league. No doubt if Sevco reach the top tier they will eventually reduce the number of play off positions in the Championship not long after Sevco get promotion blaming too many games to be played and not enough money made from them either with the smaller clubs.

Some quality bonkers conspiracy theorising in evidence on here this evening.

yep hellbhoy is having another mare to add to his collection. I know he is on the wind up but somehow i think he believes a touch of the 'repressed FC' BS. If sevco, the rangers or whatever they call themselves, get promoted after the season they have had, it will be a huge achievement and due congratulations. Not the usual crap from the pond life on the other side of glasgow, thats petty need to be in the limelight and unbeatable unless its a frikkin conpiracy against them. The biggest Joke beyond the blue side of the divide is how crap Celtic have been despite the massive financial chasm between them and the rest of scottish football. But thats is obviously all down to SPFL being against them.. not bad management.

If anyone is desperate for Rangers/Sevco to be in the Premiership next season it's Peter Lawwell!

Celtic are a stand alone club, they have a stand-alone strategy, a stand-alone financial plan and don't rely on any other club.

That might all be true but everyone at Parkhead miss your lot!

I don't agree that Rangers getting up would be a "huge achievement"at all, given the outlay on their team.

The argument that they've been shit enough to make promotion an achievement doesn't wash.

For all the bluster about Rangers and Hibs being utter shite they've been getting about the same results as Dundee and Hamilton did Last Season en route to promotion. By normal Championship standards they're actually pretty good and haven't croaked.

The idea that the SPFL and "perceptive members" knew two years ago that not one but two descending Edinburgh clubs would collide with the new Rangers coming up is far fetched. Add predicting the extent of the transformation of Hearts from Basket Case to juggernaut and it becomes ridiculous.

And as thing stand right now Arbroath and East Fife are set to play off for the chance to play Queens Park to see who plays Stenhousemuir for a place in League 1. If those ties generate enough money then Falkirk vs Saint Mirren can too in some future season.

From the top of the Premiership it might seem like an irrelevance whose only importance is that it might have an impact on one of the Old Firm but having watched Hearts spend a season at the foot of one table hoping to get into the playoff bracket and another at the top of another hoping not to get drawn in I think the playoffs are an exciting addition that keeps the season open for a lot of clubs far into April.

Nah Squidger, nothing to do with "repressed FC" status.

Cast your mind back to July 2012, when the infamous phrase "the club is separate from the company". It's about how corrupt the associations will go to so that there is a so called OF fixture in the top division. How far will these cnuts go to to help their demented brainchild they dreamed up when Rangers died ?

And one other thing as well, congratulating a club gaining promotion after running up debt over £32 million and have spent well over £110 million in three years to get there ? you mad bro ?

This version of Rangers needs to be promoted or it's fucked big time, that isn't an achievement per say, it's a calamity on how not to run a football club. I'd deffo congratulate QoS & Hibs as they have lived within their means to get promoted whilst the laughathon that is a Rangers club ?

If Rangers markII had lived within it's means and won the league this year, I'd definitely congratulate them on such a merited achievement, but they haven't. It's an embarrassment to the game that a club can place itself into financial peril just because it believes it should be allowed to be in the top flight just because they are !, Rangers.

The above isn't correct. East Fife will be playing Stenny with Arbroath playing Queens Park. The two winners then met to decided who is promoted/relegated. The same applies to the play offs between the championship and league one.

So it seems some do belive the establishment helps rangers. If that is the case why are they so far behind hearts and struggling to get above hibs? If there was a conspiracy surely they would never have allowed this situation arise.

They can't really go on the pitch and score the goals for them, people would notice.

Yet you feel they are better than your team :blink::1eye

The official cutting your nose off to spite your face statement

THE Board of Rangers International Football Club has today informed the SPFL of their intention that Rangers season ticket holders will not be charged to attend the play off matches at Ibrox.

These games are to be played between May 9 and May 31 and the Club believes supporters who bought tickets for the entire season should not be asked to pay more.

It is fundamentally wrong to ask supporters to pay for season tickets and then, at the end of the campaign, expect them to pay again to watch what will now be the most important matches of that same season.

The Club wishes to express its gratitude to all of those who bought tickets and also point out that a sensible pricing policy for play-off tickets, other than season tickets, will be announced soon so that as many Rangers fans as possible can be at Ibrox to help drive their team towards the Premiership.

We have gone through the correct channels and it should also be made clear that Rangers will comply fully with Rule C26 and pay a levy of 50% of the other ticket prices. Rangers recognises fully the SPFL’s desire to help their member clubs but as well as having a responsibility to the game in general Rangers has to be mindful of their own fans at all times.

Even so, it should be noted that Rangers is not the first Club to allow season ticket holders into the play offs free of additional charge. The SPFL Board gave Hibernian permission to allow their season ticket holders free entry into their play-off match last season therefore setting a precedent.

There is a reason why Celtic games are allowed to be switched to benefit TV games from another country, England that is.

Peter is desperate for us to move to England and Sky would be the key to this fantasy.

No other league in Europe would a teams kick off times be switched to accommodate a foreign domestic game
