So out of interest what point are you actually trying to make regarding celtic and the living wage ?

That the irfc co. statement is the same as the Celtic policy, yet the subservient media trumpet it as a 'get it right up ye'.

And what is celtics policy ?

They pay it yet not endorse it. Exactly the same as what was announced today.

Decorum chaps. This is just not the subject to measure dicks over.

I got a few free shower gel samples earlier. Who wants one? Hand doon, Njord, they only go to folk who would use them.

Rangers are to become the third Scottish club to pay the Living Wage with immediate effect, it was revealed today.

The Ibrox club will give every employee a minimum of £8.25 an hour in a move that is sure to embarrass Celtic.

Fans of the Parkhead club have been urging their board to follow Hearts’ lead with the social payment scheme but their calls were ignored at last week’s stormy agm.

Now Rangers have made the move following their own shareholders' meeting this morning at the Clyde Auditorium.

Hearts led the way in October last year by becoming the first Scottish club to implement the scheme, and in July this year Championship side Raith Rovers announced they would pay the rate to staff as well.

The Tynecastle and Stark's Park sides are signed up to the Scottish Government's scheme and although Rangers won't be joining it as yet, they have pledged to pay the same minimum rate aimed at providing people a better standard of living.

Celtic pay its staff £7.85 per hour, which was the previous Living Wage and the club have so far resisted calls to increase it to the current official hourly rate of £8.25 - which came into effect on November 2nd.

Rangers chairman Dave King confirmed the club has agreed to pay the living wage.

The Ibrox side will pay all employees at least £8.25 per hour, the current living wage at present

Hearts became the first Scottish football club to sign up to the Scottish Government’s Living Wage scheme last year.

Celtic fans have tried at three successive AGMs to convince the Parkhead club to follow suit, but the board have thus far resisted their wishes

Not wanting this taken the wrong way but there is no official living wage. It is a figure without proper base which can be seen by the increase this year at a time when prices for most core expenditure (food and fuel) have actually decreased.

As I said I applaud all companies that implement the Living Wage but the pressure for it will lead many companies to re-assess when it continually is uprated by more than companies are able to raise prices.

So?

None of us know what has changed but something obviously has.

I trust Park, Gilligan and the other directors to do what is best for Rangers Dave.

So basically you are just a gullible mouthpiece for the board of a company running your club.

Why are Celtic fans so angry over the living wage?

I mean, they've been arguing its merits for a few years now...

Got to scratch your head & laugh at peasants such as Njord etc. (who think they are sports writers  ). They post a false fact and then suddenly think they've won the argument .. then when you prove them wrong they say you are deluded or something like that and then leave, thinking they've won even though they didn't. It just looks like they did win but because there are so many people who just resort to doing that against me lol.

:)

For the avoidance of doubt despite Benny's posts , the Rangers International will be paying it (immediate administration aside).

They will not however be endorsing it.

Same as Celtic.

Do you think you are STV news or something? You must think you are like Chris Graham or something in your bubble world lol

We all know the results from the AGM mate, stop trying to post them about trying to act smart as if you are a journalist or Mr Know It All like Mad Phil etc. cause you're not mate.
