Do you know if there are any examples where a company running a well known brand led business has gone into administration then liquidation but the brand survives through being bought, but the former company that owned that brand doesn't?. Maybe this has happened in the car industry?. The Lotus name has survived in Formula One but neither the team called Lotus (Renault) or the now called Caterham team which used to be called Lotus is a continuation of the famous team started by Colin Chapman in the 1950's and stopped in 1994. I'm trying to find where the Rangers situation has happened elsewhere so there is another example to compare. They folded back in the 60's, they've been reformed with a slightly different name, their website shows their history starts from 2010. Surely using the sevconian logic, they'd still be the same club with the same history.
