s_dog
In the end, is McCarthy really all that good?. £13million is a laughable fee, even if Martinez didn't utilise him properly. If it helps, he's easily £1m better than Jonjo Shelvey.
accies1874
James McCarthy is the epitome of a Roberto Martinez player. Seems to have a reputation is an excellent player despite the fact he does nothing. Offers nothing defensively - perhaps highlighted by that stat about facing 117 shots in 5 games - and offers nothing in an attacking sense. Like Martinez he'll carve out a solid 10 year career at the top level despite being a total waste of time.Just scored, m9

Mcarthy is a fucking fantastic player who will definitely be interesting the top clubs in Europe. 25 and 400 career games too, top drawer player Scotland missed out on purely cause Archie Knox is a complete fucking arsepiece of a man. Peppino Impastato
Hopefully he surfaces at Sellick. Aye at 33 he might, he's miles better that level, Celtic couldn't afford half his wages or transfer fee and he wouldn't go near that level for a long time yet. Peppino Impastato
Celtic are already paying players more than half of James McCarthy's wages right now. At a push their best paid player will be on about half what he gets. They couldn't possibly afford him, not even close. And he wouldn't take that big a step down anyway. Peppino Impastato
He signed for 13 million and has since extended his contract, he'll be on the wages of a 15-20 million player which is easily 60 grand a week probably a bit more.

Savage Henry
£26 million for James Mcarthy? Drugs are bad mkay To be fair, Everton turned down £21m for John Stones, but yeah, it's a daft figure.
Twinkle
To be fair, Everton turned down £21m for John Stones, but yeah, it's a daft figure. I was tempted to repeat the joke but im leaving it. Its well known that the fees for players in the EPL is bad but those estimates are a disgrace. Stones has been found out against most top players. Hes an english version of John Souttar, great touch with a bit of skill but cant defend worth a f**k
Ira Gaines
http://www.sportsjoe.ie/football/james-mccarthy-manchester-united-arsenal-tottenham-transfer/15899 Definitely believe that. Where are the offers?
