Another last minute jaunt to the Wee Toon.

Drove over last night and kipped in the motor just north of Machrihanish. Staying in the bunkhouse tonight.

Glen Scotia aren't doing full distillery tours currently due to renovation work but did a warehouse tour. Got to try their new make. The standard had an oddly pleasant Weetabix thing and heavily peated had TCP but sherbety.

Also tried the double cask which is their biggest seller. Big fan of the GS15 and Victoriana. This was a gentler sort of thing but nice all the same. Probably a good introduction to Campbeltown which isn't full on oily funk.

Had a dram of a special 7yo Bordeaux cask in the shop after. Bit drier but lovely stuff.

Got Glengyle later this afternoon so will report back.

Became an uncle this week so phoned up Tomatin to get a distillery bottling filled on the same day, they couldn't be more helpful.

A wee tradition I've started with my own kids and Tomatin bottle your own, try and either get a photo at the distillery or just after with the wee ones and the bottle.

Have a Virgin Oak, Bourbon and PX casks already. Went for the Oloroso this time.

To be opened in 18 years 🥃
