Think that was the final straw where our fans patience with Hughes ran out. Was never so glad to see him leave for Hartlepool. He even managed something noteworthy apart from the Cooper inspired relegation at Hartlepool in the short tenure he had there. Will history repeat itself? See below. His arrival came after a disastrous start to the season under Neale Cooper, which resulted in the former Ross County and Gillingham boss resigning in October after a run of 12 games without a win. It took Barron, and then former Hibs and Falkirk boss Hughes another 10 games to end that streak with a Boxing Day victory at Sheffield United, but despite a seven-match run from late January that earned the Scot the manager of the month award, Pool failed to pull clear of the bottom four and were eventually sunk by Oldham's win against Yeovil on 16 April. Hughes had reiterated his desire to remain at the club for a promotion bid.

He actually changed the predictable passing it out from the back style down there, after their fans were going mental about their big uncouth CB's being put under pressure to play it out of defence, in that 10 games without a win spell. I went onto their fans forum for a swatch to see how he was going down with their fans, they couldn't understand why he was trying to get big solid hoofball CB's to play it out from the back, was deja vu from our experience of him at Livi. But he stopped doing it and they had a decent spell, too little too late to save them though.

Rovers fans must be buzzin but that's no concern to me. Ross Jack has taken Rothes to a new high of 3rd in The Highland League. Also doing a cracking job at youth level at ICT. Great Coach. Team building isn't his speciality (ask Falkirk & ICT fans), neither is improving poor players into being good enough to play his passing it out from the back style of football.
