CallumPar
Just listening to Yogi's Thursday interview. Fucking hell the guy can talk. Don't think he came up for breath in the full 15 minutes. Seems quite a scary guy, think some players will really take to his style and others will be jumping out the transfer window ASAPFound it an interesting interview. Singling out Paul Allan for praise was certainly interesting. Also liked the simple message that he spoke about giving McCann at half time and the impact that had on both McCann and the team. If he can continue to find simple things that can make a difference like that, we’ll be fine. There’s also an interview up on the official site now, about Dorrans and how important he will be to the team. Talks about his experience and understanding of the game, along with his technical ability. Yogi says he is the best player at the club. I have no issue with that, if he can get him playing to that level, but Peter Grant certainly didn’t get a decent level of performance from him. But, most importantly, he talks about the importance of giving Dom the freedom to play his game and make mistakes, as long as he helps the team recover from them. I’ve always believed it’s really important to let guys like him try the spectacular and try something different. It can be frustrating because it won’t always come off. But his goals v Raith and Inverness show exactly why he should be given the freedom to play his game without getting moaned at or taken off for making mistakes, giving the ball away/wasting possession etc.
smpar
John Hughes seems like an absolute weapon but I kinda like him.
Ludo*1
Fell down a John Hughes worm hole as he was being discussed in the Dundee thread and started looking at his signings over the years. I'd hope you guys have a DoF to do signings for you over his tenure: Starting with Hibs 09-10: Danny Galbraith, Patrick Cregg, Kevin McBride, Graham Stack, Liam Miller, Graeme Smith, Mark Brown & Anthony Stokes. - 1 successful signing in Stokes. Hibs 10-11: David Stephens, Michael Hart, Edwin de Graaf, Francis Dickoh, Valdas Trakys, Matt Thornhill & 100k for Martin Scott. - 0 successful signings. Livi 12-13: Tony Andreu (wasn't a success until Hamilton), Jordan Morton, David Luongo, Burton O'Brien & Jesus Garcia Tena - 0 successful signings. Inverness 14-15: Taarmo Kink, Edward Ofere, Ibra Sekajja, Lewis Horner & Ryan Baptie. - 0 successful signings. Inverness 15-16: Nat Wedderburn, Ryan Christie (loaned back to ICT - so not counting), Jordan Roberts, Dani Lopez, Owain Fon Williams, Iain Vigurs, Miles Storey, Tobi Sho-Silva, Dani Lopez & Alex Fisher. - 2 successful signings in Vigurs & Storey. Raith 16-17: Pavol Penska, David Syme & Scott Roberts - 0 successful signings. Ross County 20-21: Tony Andreu, Mohamed Maouche, Leo Hjelde, Joe Hilton & Jordan White. - 1 successful signing in White. So since his successful spell with Falkirk in his first managerial job, he's signed 4 players who could be deemed as a success for the clubs he's managed in 12 years of management. Oft. I know a few can be debated but when we're counting the likes of Jordan White & Miles Storey as amongst his best ever signings then you get the point.

Our fans never gave Crawford credit for his signings. We were always told that there was a bigger recruitment process - think the suggestion was that McNamara was involved in that. But Grant’s signings were utter dross, so I’m not sure how true that is/was.

Scott Roberts and David Syme were Locke signings. Hughes wasn't in at the Rovers until February when his two signings were Pavol Penksa and Danny Handling. Not that it changes your Maths any...
DA Baracus
Crawford was mostly very good with his signings. No manager will be 100% successful in their signings. Edited November 20, 2021 by DA Baracus

CallumPar
Who’s this McCann boy that Yogi signed? Totally different player today, if he can keep that up he’ll be a great asset. Dorrans as well, apparently he is the player that Grant kept telling us he was. To be fair, if any of the players can keep up that level of performance, we’ll be fine. But they won’t have it so easy every week, Ayr we’re awful.
