Glenconner
Strange as it may seem looking back from the 21st Century, the likes of Benburb and Petershill 60 years ago were in advance of a whole number of Senior clubs as regards cover for the fans on the terracing.
foreverarover
Great picture peasy23. Take it Petershill moved out of Hawthorn St because the land was going to be used for housing. Interesting it was the same grey tenements that appeared all over city during the 1920/30s. Hopefully Rockburn will be our home for the forseeable future Brandon park is now just a drink den by den for the weans. The terracing which was behind the goal at the bowling club end was recently bought by albion rovers.

patriot1
I was passing through Steelend this week so stopped off at Woodside Park where little has changed since football came to an end here.
patriot1
It was remarkably short given there's no games played on it. I've more pictures but I can only fit one per post.

I believe that Steelend gave up because the landowner seriously upped the rent so it's unlikely that any amateur team would take it on and Steelend's committee consisted of two brothers so i'm not sure the bodies are there to set up a senior club.

This ground is way out in banjo picking Deliverance sort of territory. gogsy's from the other side of the big hill in the background. The surprise is more that Steelend could ever have had a team for so long. Blink and you miss it, if you are driving past. -
LongTimeLurker
It's a football board. Keep your bigotry over identity politics out of this thread.
LongTimeLurker
You stopped supporting the Kelty Hearts first team because Barry Ferguson became the manager. Those are the actions of a small minded identity politics obsessed bigot.
