Sons' sorrow

Ok there seems to be a split on Ian murrays commitment. Well according to his record after 108 games he has a 37.9% win rate and that at a higher level than most preceding dumbarton managers. Most successful manager was tam Carson with a 47.76% win rate but that was at a lower league level.

Looking at his success murray must be in the top five all time managers up there with peter mcgowan Jackie Stewart and Billy lamont.

Ian I hope you stay but best wishes if you go.

The Sun is the biggest selling paper in Britain, and what does that tell us - hee haw. Statistics don't always indicate commitment.

But anyway, it occurred to me that if Lee Mair still has any chums at St Mirren then Murray's chances may be zippo. In any case, its seems there are other front runners for both that and the Raith job so he may be at The Rock for a while yet.

Cracking video. I've always loved Wallace's goal in that game, we started singing "Sons are going up" when Grindlay got the ball, long ball down the right, Prunty into Wallace, SCENES.

There's a still shot that I took from the BBC Alba coverage on iPlayer that has loads of us in it and used as my home PC background, it remains there to this day. So everytime I go to watch some porn I get the Moonster's shitey wee face looking at me from the desktop.

After the utter horror of the tension at Arbroat in the semi, the two legs of the final felt comfortable by comparison. The first leg was still a bit nervy at first, but nowhere near the agony of Gayfield. Second leg of the final felt like it was in the bag before the game even kicked off, and you could see our players believed it more than Airdrie's.

Gayfield was arguably one of Shay's finest matches in a Sons jersey. Just phenomenal all afternoon.

He was the reason we made it to that play off final with that display up at Arbroath. Best goalkeeping performance I've ever seen. Ive never been so nervous over 90 minutes ever. Look at Arbroath now though, they were a better team than us that year and now they are playing 3rd division football.

Oh well.

Hope we get someone in soon - players won't sign up if there's no manager and we don't want other clubs nipping in there and taking last year's players.

ETA: Thanks Ian, it's been an amazing few years - think now is the right time!
