topcat(The most tip top)
Thanks to the rain We're now into day two of Scotland's One Day Game against Namibia in Edinburgh. Namibia are chasing 269 in 43 overs after Richie Berrington got 110 in Scotlands rain shortened innings Namibia are currently 26/0 after 5.1 Overs A win here would pretty much secure a top 4 slot with automatic entry to the World Cup qualifiers
Cardinal Richelieu
Why can't they play cricket in the rain?
NorthernJambo
Why can't they play cricket in the rain? Strips would go see through.
topcat(The most tip top)
Namibia are 56/4 If the weather is favourable then we should be home and dry figuratively as well as literally Edited June 12, 2017 by topcat(The most tip top)

The conditions affect the bounce, the slipperiness of the ball etc... But the main difference with other sports is that It will disadvantage the batting team more than their opponents. In Football, Rugby,Hockey etc. a downpour would affect both teams equally and you can ask them to just get on with it Of course in recreational amateur cricket people aren't quite as fussy and might choose to play on through mild drizzle. And some people are even less fussy than that Edited June 12, 2017 by topcat(The most tip top)

Sloop John B
Scotland bounce back from a horrible defeat to Namibia on Tuesday to get their first official win against a test playing side as they beat Zimbabwe by 26 runs via D/L at the Grange. Their first win in 24 attempts against Full Member sides. They play again on the Saturday if P&B's cricket community have a free Saturday in Edinburgh.

Have they a Grand Lodge?

Ned Nederlander
The mono-brows are gathering to bring irrelevant 17th century Ireland to Grangemouth - it's cold and windy but no sign of rain It would appear they're going to stomp down a road that the police refused to close for Children's Day last week ... more clowns attending todays event. I'm heading back out in a couple of hours ... hopefully they've fucked off by then.
