Ned Nederlander
Nearly time to once again ignore BBC Scotland's annual cringe-fest - I'm guessing Frank MacAvennie will be trotted out for the umpteenth unfunny year ... the guy wasn't even relevant the first time he was included. Thank f'ck for the Hootenanny !
Satans_Husband
There's rarely even a thread on it these days such is the irrelevance and lack of humour.
DA Baracus
The last good one was the France 98 special. That was immense. So that means that OAE hasn't been funny for 15 and a half years
DAFC
Someone just tell him he's not funny.
AMMjag
I watch this every year in the hope that it will be good. It really ought to be good, I'm sure there is a big appetite for a funny take on Scottish Football. This has been utterly dreadful, repetitive pish for years. At least we'll always have the simply hilarious and totally not tired Macca takes to lighten the show up.
hoopy1967
It's not as if they don't have enough material to work with
stumigoo
The thing is, it doesn't have to be 'impressions'. As hoopy said they have stack loads of material to write a pretty decent pisstake on all things Scottish football, covering all the leagues, the national team, getting stuck into the English Premiership. There's enough decent writers out there (see 'The Tartan Special One') to get folk together to write a really good 'yearly review' on Scottish football (impressions or no impressions), but instead they rehash the same shit time after time. Adrian Madaschi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wb3htyHbIqU Probably the most cringe-worthy thing of last years episode.

Coooombe
They should get whoever runs the OldFirmFacts account on twitter in as a writer, he'd do a far better job.
The Naitch
With everything that happened at Ibrox in the summer of 2012 they had no excuse last year but they still churned out the usual pish.
The OP
If you have watched this for the past 15 and a half years despite the fact that it has been pish every time, you're part of the problem.
DA Baracus
I think Only An Excuse has just got more and more pish over the years as the Scottish Football's got more and more pish. Less big names, less big characters, less coverage and less well known players to parody. Too many players behaving themselves nowdays doesn't help! Nonsense. There are loads of people and events to rip the pish out of. Sadly though, like the rest of BBC Scotland across all platforms, they are massive cowardly Celtic and The Rangers sycophants so will just pander to them for the majority of the show with the usual irrelevant pish thrown in. It's a massive display of cowardice and lack of imagination. Fucking bilge.
meanmistermustard
Cant believe this pish is still on. Haven't seen it for a few years but it was utter shit back then, repeating the same jokes from the two previous years.
Southside Hibee
60% of the sketchs will consist of Mcavennie with the "wummin", 30% will consist of the Old Firm, 5% of Chico Young and then 5% will be split between every other thing in Scottish Football. It's the same every year, still watch it though!
GordieBoy80
Anyone who can't make a funny sketch show out of the hilarious material that we were presented with last summer doesn't deserve air time.
jester
Google Ads has put an ad up on this thread with Gina Yashere on it. That's how unfunny OAE is.
Satans_Husband
Incredibly exciting stuff revealed here. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/entertainment/tv-radio/only-excuse-susan-boyle-faces-2965816 Old favourites like Sir Alex Ferguson and Frank McAvennie will return and nothing is off limits – no matter who gets offended. Jonathan said: “We don’t make any decision not to upset fans of the Old Firm too much – a good joke will always hurt someone." Even when they address something interesting the writing is pish. And NONE of the ways they address the Old Firm are 'good jokes'. Tired pathetic one-liners would be a better description.
bullywee
Add a poll asking if the BBC should continue it next year then send the results to them in a couple of weeks.
