Utd have become our bogey team in recent years. I actually thought we'd lose today. Their penalty was extremely dubious and I felt we possible deserved a penalty ourselves however I'd need a second look. Overall really not good enough. Richardson unfortunately isn't good enough for this league and serious question marks over Stewart and Scales. Motherwell, Utd and Hibs have strolled it against us. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt after Hibs because of how that game transpired, but I don't have confidence in us winning literally any away games at the moment. That is obviously going to become a pretty big issue if it continues much longer. Some of our players, including many of our new signings, are bafflingly inconsistent at the moment. I thought we were really good last weekend, both in and out of possession. That was like watching a completely different group of players today, against what appears to be a relatively similar standard of opposition. Ramadani, for example, can look in complete control one game, but then be utterly anonymous the next game. Miovski can look like one of our best signings in years, but a week later look like we have re-signed Chidi Nwakali and stuck him up front. You could say similar for most of our starting players at the moment, though, including the ones who have been here a bit longer now. It’s not just bad results, That is 3 absolutely rancid performances already this season and there’s no excuse for turning in that sort of dross. We’ve spent £500k on Richardson & Morris, two lower/non League English players. Stewart? Poor too. Hayes Yes, I quite like the look of that (with Clarkson in for the second Coulson, obviously.) I think we need to have one of Duk or Watkins in, to try and get a body close to Miovski. He seems to struggle a bit physically when he becomes isolated. Caught in no man’s land time after time and although it’s not his job, he absolutely bottled his chance on goal. To only have him as an option at RB is negligence.I thought we played our best stuff when we were 3-5-2 with Clarkson and Barron in the midfield. DrewDon Posted October 8, 2022 Share Posted October 8, 2022 I wouldn't go as far as preferring Gurr, but Richardson appears to be a very attack-minded wing-back being played as a right-back in a four - and that is a problem. He has, in his very limited defence, been robbed of two assists by Miovski against Hibs and now Dundee United. McCrorie in midfield instead of defence. Now I am not saying that is the sole reason for this humiliation, far from it as almost everyone was garbage, but it’s a factor. He’s never a midfielder and the arse licking he gets from so many dandies due to his running power and attitude is infuriating at times. The boy can’t pass water. Ramadani isn’t even a particularly top level passer of the ball, so that leaves so little creativity in the team. And Vinny just isn’t good enough in open play for this level, despite a few tap in goals blurring peoples opinions of him. Jury massively out on Goodwin.
