I'm really hoping we are holding on to Miovski and Duk until 2024.

Teams would need to offer silly money for us to part with either so soon and I'm hoping no clubs are feeling too silly.

Yeah I don't see us selling Miovski this summer unless somebody comes in with a £5m+ offer. Still got 3 years on his contract.

We're going to have 50+ games this season and if Robson sees Miovski as central to how he wants to play it's good management to get another striker with similar qualities so that if Bojan picks up a couple of niggle Injuries or gets tired we've got a ready made replacement.

We just need to sign a Serb & a Kosovan & we’re good to go to war on a Saturday.

With each other.

Dave has already organised the lead act for the next pre-match event at the Beach Ballroom.

'Riskier move' is in line with transfermarkt who value Teklic at €1.5M but Sokler is only at €0.4M.

If we know that Duk and Miovski are staying until 2024 we can afford to take a punt on someone with a high ceiling that could go the way of those two as opposed to paying very high wages to pick up a Van Veen or S.Fletcher for example

We have to pay for the Doric AFAS Stadion I've decided we are going to build somehow, and it most definitely is not going to be by spending fortunes on past it / one season wonders.

I'd take the punt every time on the proviso we have Duk / Miovski like you said.

Yea, it's a good plan. Hopefully fee is small in case he's more Myslovic and less Miovski. Fingers crossed though weve done our homework and if Maribor are in for him then thats a decent second opinion

Sokler certainly sounds like a 'project player'. It's encouraging that he's been linked with a move to Maribor (who are seemingly a decent side) this summer. Would be fantastic to have Duk, Miovski and Sokler for next season with us guaranteed 50 games.

Ex-Don Josh Parker played for Domzale in the Slovenian league scoring 14 goals in 42 matches. Sadly he wasn't very good for us.

As mentioned elsewhere, the Slovenian transfer window opens on the 15th of June and The Croatian transfer window opens on the 19th of June. l suspect we'll see some activity next week when their respective transfer windows open.

Did we ever get an update on Miovski’s injury?

3 weeks rest and 3 weeks rehab apparently - think that was from his specialist appointment which was a week or so after the injury.... so all in 7 weeks out.

Surely a bit old to be a project signing?

That would be more along the lines of the boy Dundee signed from Albion Rovers if we had went for him?

I think we'll need a squad of 30 at least to cope with all the extra games. Absolutely makes sense to bring in an understudy to Miovski. Potentially then have a similar striker ready to go when we sell Miovski for £15M next summer!

30? That seems excessive. You’d have a whole load of filler. We can’t afford a squad of that size with actual quality in it.

There’s a really difficult balance to be struck here. You need to box clever in the market, players need to be able to cope with extra games and we probably need plenty of versatility. You don’t want to be playing an entirely changed team every Sunday. Then what happens in the new year when you have 15 guys who never play?

a project signing in this case just meaning he might turn out to be as per his value as opposed to certainly Miovski and Teksic who we would be very confident will go on to better things relatively quickly.

It's more of a punt than some others but we can take that risk when we have two international class strikers on the books

They'll be needed for the knockout rounds.

We get a squad of 25 for Europe, and a spare 5 players to cover for injuries seems about right to me.

Most important is the quality of depth we have though. I'd like to see us have a "2nd XI" good enough to beat your average league diddies like Hearts, and save the best players for playing the Old Firm, Rangers, and the Euro games. So have a settled core, and rotate the flair players. I think people underestimate how big a squad is necessary to compete on all fronts.

That's if we intend to actually try and compete in Europe, rather than just get our "Good Sport" badge, and bumble off home content with our little jaunt and financial boost.
