Very torn if the Duk story is legit. Love him to bits, but he has not been anywhere near his best. It could be that he continues to be mediocre for the rest of the season and his value drops. Or he could have the same second half of the season as last and he propels us up the league and his value goes up. If there is a decision to be made it's a difficult one.

I'm exactly the same. Given the figures of 2.5 - 3 million I'd edge towards keeping him. He is such a unique and exciting player and when on form I can't remember anyone like him in recent times. If Miovski goes this window we absolutely have to keep him at least until summer.

DONS FURY

Aberdeen ‘quietly complained to SFA referees chief’ over Rangers League Cup final VAR flashpoint

See that's where we are going wrong, we need to be on every tv programme and every radio show saying it's a conspiracy and all officials are anti-Aberdeen

Bring back the northsound football phone in for the late 90s

I would’ve thought Davey C would be the perfect candidate to come out on TwitteX howling at the moon about VAR conspiracies and dodgy refs. There are plenty of examples he could highlight over the years.

Our appeal was frivolous. Theirs was staunch.

North-east construction group Stewart Milne goes bust

This have any impact on the Dons at all?

Not directly.

It's probably a significant hit to the local economy but not all jobs affected are in the North East. They're not a sponsor or a loan creditor. Maybe they take hospitality?

We do have loans from directors (accounts definitely say directors and not their companies) but I'd assume they're mostly from Cormack and Milne shouldn't be directly personally affected in any case.

It's not good news in any way though.

Milne has been an absolute drain on Aberdeen FC, so from the clubs perspective, no.
The quicker he’s out & off the FMB, the better.

Absolute failure as a Chairman.

Was Chairman as we racked up millions in debt, bailed out by a generous benefactor.

Was responsible for the 11-1 vote remaining.

Rimmed the hole of the vermin in 2012 with his “we need a strong ‘Rangers’ “ comments.

Can't defend the vote structure or the rimming, but "racking up millions in debt" needs context.

Rangers debt fuelled stranglehold on the game had just been broken by an increasingly debt fuelled Celtic. Other clubs were ramping up spending beyond their income.

Milne didn't go balls out for borrowing in the Setanta years and recognised the need for the debt to be manageable.

We didn't go into admin like many smaller clubs (Motherwell, Dundee, Hearts) or die like larger competitors. We weren't relegated like the Embra and Dundee clubs.

Structurally, Milne recognised the need to modernise the club and tried things, hiring professional Chief Execs and Directors of Football and gave an AIM listing a shot.

I'm not trying to argue that he was a success, just that it could have been much, much worse.

The ‘we need a strong rangers’ chat came when we were above them in the league and they just tried to take our manager. Just a fuckin stupid thing to say.

Have to agree with @coprolite though, Milne is much maligned but he did drag us through one of the worst economic periods in Scottish football. Was unable to get us thriving clearly but he did keep the wheels turning at least.

Only because you lucked out with someone happy to bail you out. Aberdeen were in the same boat as the clubs you mention.

Milne's tenure should have included a relegation in 2000 and could well have included an administration.

He got jammy twice. Giving him credit for avoiding relegation and administration is like giving Rishi Sunak credit for cutting inflation.

I'll take the hit on correcting this line this time round. It could have included a relegation. We were utter pish after all. We should have been in a three-team playoff with Falkirk and Dunfermline, but Brockville etc. etc.

Milne oversaw a team with one of the biggest budgets in the country (so big they eventually needed a third-party bailout) finishing bottom of the league.

That's not a chairman you give credit for avoiding relegation.
