I do think we can be too quick to hype players up and then tear them down when things start to go a bit wrong, but his development over the last 12 months has been genuinely surprising. A full season as undisputed first choice left-back, hopefully keeping free of any serious injuries, would be really beneficial for him. There is also still plenty of room for development with him, too; he is getting better offensively, but his end product could definitely be refined. I’m not convinced he is going to sign a new contract, unfortunately, but I would definitely like to see him hang around based on recent form. Still, if you had told me before the season started that we would be sitting at the second international break having won all our games and with both Devlin and Mackenzie getting Scotland call-ups, I would have tried to have you sectioned. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
