Mr Romanov
It is only in Scotland and England that the DoF role is seen as some weird thing. It is the norm elsewhere. I think plenty managers would be open to it.

paranoid android
Pressley certainly got on with Levein in their manager/captain relationship. Pressley isn't a well liked guy, but then neither is Levein by some accounts - could be a marriage made in heaven. When he was our captain, I always thought he could be a future manager/coach - he hasn't set the heather on fire in hot spots like Coventry and Fleetwood, mind. Just imagine, though - Neil McFarlane as coach!
Mr. X
I'll be shocked if our new manager is as high profile as Paul Hartley. I think Budge and Levein will stick to their policy of developing their own young manager.
Crùbag
Saw this elsewhere. Good going. Some Champs results but still had big spending Sevco and Hibs to deal with. Even w/ SPL only, his win rate is above Jeffries. All the best to Neilson. Thanks for the hard work. Who now? Pressley. Has the attitude, Budge probably likes him and he'll wind up the Robbie-haters and remaining Sevconian-types in our support. Quote Win ratio as Hearts manager... Robbie Neilson - 61% Jim Jefferies - 44% Craig Levein - 44% Paulo Sergio - 43% Csaba Laszlo - 39% -

The Grass Is Greener.
Has he accepted the job then? Surely the only reason he'd go there is for money because it looks like an awful fit for him.
Ludo*1
The candidates according to tomorrow's papers are Cathro, Pressley, Hartley and Gary Naysmith. Eclectic bunch of candidates and clearly just any up and comers and people with a former association to Hearts.

Mind when Levein left - he'd said to himself; that he'd take the first decent offer he was made, and he did - I wonder if Neilson has had similar thoughts? Is it a decent offer? Financially, it probably is - otherwise, probably not so much.

Aye that's Maurice Malpas. No wonder! If a manager has the power to empty the DoF then it's not really the right set up. Whoever 'manages' Hearts next will be the head coach. Darren
Cathro would be the only one mentioned that I would deem exciting. I really hope we try to get him, even if we're unsuccessful it would show some ambition.
