~~~ Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Uefa to award Celtic the standard 3-0 victory by forfeit, 4-4 overall and celtic through on away goals in the most embarrassing fashion ever. Absolute red neck But you know the board will be desperate for it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Monkey Tennis Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 It would please me greatly if there was a good relevant challenge to Celtic for the title. I don't believe you. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Romeo Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 STV stating rules are if they fielded an ineligible player Celtic would be awarded 3-0 and therefor progress. That is STV though..... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Lex Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Would be hilarious if Celtic got back in. Sion all over again ... They must be the luckiest club out there Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
wulliamwallace Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Reports that the same player also played against st pats when he was ineligible. How would this work out. If legia are found to be breaking rules they should be removed form competition. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
DavieCFC Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 In all honesty ... it will be a fine ... nothing more unless there is a hard and fast rule. There is actually Article 14: * A match is declared forfeit if a player who has been suspended following a disciplinary decision participates in the match. * A match may be declared forfeit if a player who is ineligible under the regulations of the competition concerned participates in the match, as long as the opposing club files a protest. It all comes down to wither or not he was registered for the St.Pats tie to serve the 1st 2 games of the suspension. All indications point to that he was not thus he didnt serve any of the 3 game ban. The rules above make it pretty clear that if he has played when he should have been suspended, the only possible outcome is to forfeit the match 3-0. Northsea80 Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I was joking about that happening, I'm pretty sure 3-0 is the standard forfeit though. This is where Peter Lawwell earns his money, straight on the phone to Uefa. Sfa involved, MPs the lot to salvage some champions league money. Wouldn't put it past him. stonedsailor Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Do you ever post on non OF threads mate? Aye, I was playing in the push bike operators thread to kill time in the slack period. Old firm supporters are easy prey but them push bikers can take the serious huff too. Why? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bhoy who invented weetabix Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Being honest we all know we were thoroughly horsed over the two legs, the guys five minute cameo had no effect on outcome on the game....... ........but.... if the rules state he wasnt eligible and we get put through id gladly take it, there is no fan of any club who wouldnt say otherwise, because its Celtic though it will provoke an outpouring of seethe from regulars on places like this forum and other people. Its early days so lets wait and see but this doesn't look good for the Poles, aside from benefitting my club their fans were a horrible lot last night, a bunch of fat headed racist b*****ds so f**k them Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Zanetti Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 To be fair if I were a Celtic fan I wouldn't care that they got pumped, I'd just be happy about (maybe) being given a second chance. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Northsea80 Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 If somehow Celtic did manage to squeak through on a technicality and then fluke the next round perhaps they could keep the volume of the champions league music down to a minimum to show a little embarrassment at the whole situation. Monkey Tennis Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 It would sum up the luck of the Old Firm, if Celtic got this overturned on the strength of a 2 minute appearance when trailing 6-1; just as Rangers got nothing overturned after years of fielding dozens of improperly registered players over hundreds of matches.
