More wineries than you could ever imagine, nice scenery and you can do a night in the blue mountains on the way home. Good idea, but he mentioned that he was after a "beachy" break.

Ross.
Final decision was: 2 days in Sydney 5 days on Hamilton Island 4 days in Melbourne 8 days on Tasmania Including the flights there and back it pretty much takes up the full 21 days we had to play with. Will now start planning the specifics for Sydney and Melbourne. Hamilton Island and Tasmania we already have a shed load planned. Better be f*cking worth it, you upside down c*ntos.

drs
TimTams though, ooft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a fuckin biscuit that is, the caramel ones are the daddy. Sydney airport had a whole lot of "unique" flavours when I was there in January but I couldn't be arsed paying their prices. Something I have of course regretted ever since.

I normally get a junk food hamper from the mother in law at Christmas and these were always my favourite so ill be very disappointed. Need to throw shapes into the equation also especially the pizza flavoured ones.

Always felt the true experience was that of going to smaller towns. The gold coast is awesome, go to surfers paradise and thank me later....
AsimButtHitsASix
Melbourne was one of the best nights out I've ever had when I was staying there. I was stuck out in Melton and decided to just get the train in, got wasted, and wait for the first train home. Ended up falling asleep on some ceremonial anchor out of my dial. Some cracking pubs in/around Chinatown (or at least there was a decade ago)

In my brief times there I always got the impression Melbourne would be a better place to live while Sydney has the more obvious tourist attractions but isn't as good once the novelty has worn off. Had a couple of cracking days / nights on Fraser Island as well.

It would be rare to see anyone having a beer smaller than 285ml, some might still do the 200ml. Going back to the 80's and before the sizes below that were usually used to serve port or marsalla or any other fortified wine for the hardened drinkers or in a lot of pubs for spirits.
Highland Capital
A sad lack of Violet Crumbles being mentioned in this thread. Like a Crunchie, but better. The chocolate bar of the gods.

An Adelaide company, Robern Menz, makers of FruChocs, bought the rights to the name and the manufacturing equipment and have started making them again,
MONKMAN
It would be rare to see anyone having a beer smaller than 285ml, some might still do the 200ml. Going back 10 years ago, I was working at the Baringhup hydro-electric dam. Myself and a couple of boys had flown from Sydney to Melbourne then drove up to Maldon, in the arse end of nowhere, where we met up with an Australian guy we worked with who’d travelled down in a works van the previous day. He seemed remarkably coherent considering he’d just told us he’d drank about 15 beers in the couple of hours he’d been waiting on us. We ordered a round in and were each presented with a small 200ml glass tankard of lager, which was no more than a mouthful.
Ross.
Will an ETA suffice for entry into Aus or am I better applying for an actual Visa? I think I am safe with just the first but want to be sure.
