Aye but you nuggets always miss out the 2nd part of that.

There is more money generated in Scotland than it receives back.

The same can be said of London......which dwarfs every other Region in comparison.

We have a stronger economy right now and will continue to do so. Hopefully in 20 years or so when the UKs housing bubble and over reliance on financial services goes pop, we'll have done enough to insulate ourselves. The UK economy and sterling are on a very shoofly peg for the foreseeable.

Key word highlighted

So Scotland are going to be a shining beacon even though the UK economy goes belly up? The one that has the currency we'll be using? oh ok. Couple of flaws in your predictions

And other nuggets seem to think that Scotland is bankrolling the UK :D

Scaremongering lies, no doubt ;)

????You obviously did not read the final paragraph of your own link. (what is the enlightened source by the way)

Scotland received 9.2% of the public purse.

Scotland contributed 9.4% to the public purse.

Scotland provides a net subsidy to the rest of the UK.

As it has for over 30 years. Hundreds of billions of pounds you scrounging barstewards.

No. Jog on...

The issue here is that those backing the union consistently do not mention that Scotland is a net contributer.

The main stream media fail to report it and allow the myth to be perpetuated that Scotland is subsidised.

That is not the action of "mates"
