Great hearing Stuart & Tam on Off the Ball grilling McIntyre about the choice of commentary match today.

I don’t listen to this shite often, but Willie Miller complaining about the “worst pitch inspection” he’d ever seen, before saying the referee was “absolutely right” made me laugh.  He hasn’t  improved in the best part of 30 years in the job.

Wait is OAM not on? Both BBC Scotland and the Gaelic channel have the Celtic match on on BBC Sounds.

They cancelled it because of the two Premiership games being postponed. So far Liam MacLeod is better at giving lower league updates than Macintyre, even while he's commentating on a game.

Some of you will be aware that Richard Gordon wrote a brilliant piece in his Press & Journal Saturday column 3 weeks ago, basically stating there is bias, whether intentional or not, when it comes to Rangers not having conceded a penalty since Jesus was a baby.

It took the West coast a week or so to pick up on it but since they did, Richard has been absent from both the Sunday and midweek Sportscene.

Coincidence? We all knows what happens to folk that criticise the glorious rrrrrrrrrrrangerssssszzzzzzzz

It appeared on the Daily Record website on December 3rd, and The Times on December 8th.

Richard Gordon presented Sunday Sportsound on December 10th, and the midweek edition (with Aberdeen and Rangers’ European games) on December 15th.

He didn’t present last week’s League Cup Final, but you’d expect the new lead presenter to anchor that.

I’m saying that the powers at be at rANJurS hadn’t contacted the BBC by Dec 15th but possible have since, which explains Richard’s absence last Sunday and midweek.

We will find out tomorrow if my theory is correct.

Did Dick give any examples of this bias?

Just that, are we really saying that an infringement has not occurred in the Sevco penalty box, perpetrated by a Sevco player, for 75 matches or whatever it is, and for the 44 matches preceding that?

Unlikely, innit?

No examples then.

Please see picture evidence in other threads where Sevco players tug jerseys in the box but no action is taken, in total contrast to the OUTRAGE of staunch Sevcoites being FORCED to dive like dolphins when their jerseys are lightly brushed.

As soon as there’s an implication of conspiracy or partisan refereeing then it makes it easy for OF fans to dismiss all of this.

The idea that we’re refereed to a different standard due to the added pressures and different environment of refereeing at parkhead and ibrox is perfectly plausible and makes a lot of sense.
