So, is this any difference to the story that it was in the running to become it? Has there been an official announcement?

If you want to seriously talk about this then I would say that somewhere like Kinloss (or Lossiemouth) would be ideal as it has a long runway (used for the Nimrods) as well as the RAF infrastructure and buildings there.

Of course RAF Kinloss closed due to government cuts, but you know, that's just Westminster stuff and has nothing to do with Scotland, right?
