Selectioncrisis
It's an exciting time to be an ROI fan with Geeds back to his best and that superb result away to Georgia last Sunday. The other thing is the number of players who are potentially declaring themselves available for selection. Noble has been a bit reluctant to come forward but Harry Kane would be a terrific acquisition. Pacy, powerful and confident. The prospect of him and Geeds linking up is really exciting. Like myself they are Irish through parents or grandparents but they're as Irish as the ones born there. Any ROI fans know of any other players who are considering pulling on the green shirt? mizfit
Are Ireland still selecting players based on family background and not skill?
RandomGuy.
Harry Kane turned Ireland down over a month ago now, Mark Noble was quoted aswell saying he was English and had no interest in representing anyone else. Bizarre time to start a thread about it tbh

RandomGuy.
Mark Noble ruled out playing for Ireland 3 years ago. Case of watch this space..... In the past week Nobles come out and said he's only considering playing for Ireland because he can't get in the England squad and he's going to wait and see if he makes the next England squad before declaring for Ireland. Its a farce really, he's possibly better than what you've got, but he clearly has no interest in representing you and will only do so to try and make a point to Hodgson. Connor1874
I like Mark Noble. Surprised he hasn't made it into the England squad yet. Especially as Fabian Delph gets a game.

Mr. Mojo Risin'
Technically I could play for the Republic of Ireland, using the granny rule, but I wouldn't, because they are sh*te*. *So am I
beermonkey
How about selecting players based on their own nationality rather than where their granny was born ? I hate that rule with a passion.
H_B
How about selecting players based on their own nationality rather than where their granny was born ? What about where their parents happened to be born? Why is that any better?
