banterman86
Can you no just get the bus to yoker Dunno about the merits of the project - the whole point of the city deal was to invest in capital projects to boost employment and the local economy though, so it;s this sot of stuff it is supposed to fund. If they want to boost employment and the local economy then they should be pumping the money into sustainable projects and not this capital shite. We have been pissing money away in infrastructure investment on the west coast for as long as I can remember. Must be great having great road and rail infrastructure to get you to the dole office quickly and cheaply. Capital investment needs to be followed up by business investment and it appears that there is not really sufficient of the latter to provide a return on all this capital expenditure. Up to the councils to decide how they want to spunk money away. Socialist councils are notoriously shite at everything. Awesome at pissing money away I have no problem with local councils pissing away locally raised taxes. The people can vote them out if they don't like it. However, this program is only 10% funded by the councils.
