Since we have had loads of players capped. I'll go for a Scotland 11 and manager as well as an international 11 and manager. Also since it was suggested Celtic and Rangers fans post their best international players I've gone for the Lisbon Lions who surprisingly won only 117 caps between them. Shows how strong Scottish football was in the 1960s.

first up Scotland

1. Ronnie Simpson 5 caps

2. Jim Craig 1 cap

3. Tommy Gemmell 18 caps 1 goal

4. Bobby Murdoch 12 caps 6 goals

5. Billy Mcneill 29 caps 3 goals

6. John Clark 4 caps

7. Jimmy Johnstone 23 caps 4 goals

8. Willie Wallace 7 caps

9. Stevie Chalmers 5 caps 3 goals

10. Bertie Auld 3 caps

11. Bobby Lennox 10 caps 3 goals

Notable mentions for

Kenny Dalglish 102 caps 30 goals

Danny McGrain 62 caps

In my years watching United:

Szamotulski

Ryan Mcgowan

Andy Webster

Curtis Good

Andy Robertson

Craig Conway

Charlie Miller

Barry Robson

Gary mackay Steven

Billy Dodds

Johnny Russell

Including Curtis good, an on loan player who managed 4 matches for Utd, is a minter.

Trying to stick to players I've seen myself:

Ally Maxwell

Paul Fenwick - Dave McPherson - James McPake

Paul Hartley - David Hopkin - Derek McInnes - Janne Lindberg - Andy McLaren

Robert Earnshaw - Marko Rajamaki

Fouad Bachirou and Garry O'Connor on the bench.

I was tempted to leave McPake out in favour of a 2-6-2 formation, because on balance I'd rather have no defence than allow that waste of skin in my team.

Jim Leighton

Stuart Mckimmie
Lee Wilkie
Zurab khizanishvili
Darius Adamcuck

Jimmy Johnstone
Gavin Ray
Morten Weighorst

Gordon Strachen

Alan Gilzean
Claudio Cannigia

Subs

Douglas (along with Pageau) was the best keeper who played at Dens, but at his best Leighton was a better keeper...just a shame it did not happen with us. We had some great players in the 60's, but football then was very differant and its hard to say if these players could make it in the modern game. For that reason Billy Steel is only on the bench. Gillie though has to be in the first team. I actually saw Johnstone play for us - he was past it - but again, at his best he was a great winger.
