ArabianKnight
Introduction if large predators back in Scotland is an absolute must on a number of counts, depopulation of red deer being the prime reason. There's plenty of research and studies out there of the impact of large predator species on more densely populated areas of Europe. Surprisingly it seems the large predators stick to their natural habitat, with the encroachment of urban areas into the wilderness largely settled in Europe there is no need to worry about bears eating out of your wheelie bin. Just Google "reintroduction of large predators in Europe" for the relevant studies. It all makes sense and the steps that are necessary to protect yourself against these species whilst out on a hike for example are minimal and easily remembered.
DEEJANGO
By the way, apparently wild boar are already here. Just read there's a significant population in Dumfries and Galloway, as well as in other parts of the UK. Farmers already up in arms. http://www.scotsman.com/news/environment/scotland-s-wild-boars-killing-lambs-claim-gamekeepers-1-2513035 Also some of the boar here are fucking massive, skip to 3:45: Introduce boars then these knobs hunt them, very clever.
dufc1980
Introduce boars then these knobs hunt them, very clever. Probably because they weren't officially re-introduced. Boars just escaped from captivity or were set free over the years.

Public opinion is required, It only takes 2 minutes so well worth it for the prospect of seeing these amazing creatures back on Scottish soil. Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/reintroduction
jamamafegan
In addition to that, stumbled across an old post which is related to this. PB's thoughts on reintroducing native species: Thanks for the question Mozzamozza. I'm going to level with you and say I've absolutely no idea what a porn bear is. The best i can offer you is my understanding on what the terms "porn" and "bear" mean. I hope you will be satisfied with the direction of my answer, and my willingness to answer any question to the best of my abilities. Porn - As most of you will be aware, my wife left me in the third quarter of 2011 (she got 50%). Up to this point, my ejaculation schedule was consistent, and I used to hit jackers a mere par three away from her cervix. This was a constant theme of our 30 years together. Obviously this changed, and by November 2011 I was a regular user of internet pornography. My views of the subject is that its primarily geared toward the woman to the detriment of the male actor. I feel the male tends to be forced into things against his wishes. The male tends to be the main thruster, and is required to enter without a dickie jacket, which will certainly inflame the helmet. Furthermore he's sometimes asked to penetrate the anus of the eager female - a move that can only inflame an already raw bellend. It's a thriving industry. I just wish the needs of a man were thought of some more. Bear - One of the questions I'm asked on a almost daily basis is...."Since Perthshire is like a mini-Canada ( although miles better) should we introduce wolves and bears"? Firstly I always thank the questioner, as I've excellent moral fibre, and like to recognize the effort of others. I used to think it was a crazy Idea for geographic reasons. What if they escaped to foreign climes like Stirlingshire? These days I'm in favour of an experiment. As most of you are aware, we're blighted in Perthshire by a black sheep. The Balotelli of Perthshire. The Fred West. Perthshire's ebola - Standfree03 (who posts on here) My suggestion is we place choice cuts of beef in the boxes of his top 10 favourite jigsaws, and we release a collection of wolves and Bears to surround his house. If he's eaten to death ( as I'm sure we all agree he's an awful poster and a terrible human being) then we say "naw, we don't want any bears or wolves in Perthshire. If he survives we simply double the quantity of wolves and bears. Let me leave you/drag this back on track with my 5 words of advice for the next week. 1. Get on the water 2. Get on the Quavers 3. Get on the treadmill 4. Stay away from Tescos 5. Floss. #perthshire What a guy.
Gaz
How would we stop wolves eating sheep instead of deer?Armed sheep IMO.

Ya Bezzer!
As a former postman and as someone who got chased by a 'pitbull type dog' as I walked past a bookies last week my major concern with dangerous animals are the type fed out tins rather than the ones running about eating deer. Also, you have to laugh at the land owners self righteous 'we are Guardians of Scotland's wild areas' patter when they are bulldozing land rover tracks here, there and everywhere, usually without permission, and bashing rare birds over the head and throwing them into wood chippers.

Shandon Par
Not sure how Sammy the Tammy managed to dodge the administrator's bullet. Strip him of his Pars kit and set him free. A gentle reintroduction to bears.
