Kenny is standing down, his office manager (who is one of the finest people I know) is also off - she basically runs the day-to-day campigning in East and is essential to winning it (Shepherd wouldn't have got a sniff without her), Labour will chuck the sink at us and I'm pretty sure that the newbies just think they have to turn up to win.

After all, referendum aside, it's all they know.

And the Radical is still shut :bairn

Luckily, Labour are still crap at campaigning, but if they got their act together....

Edin east is easily the SNP heartlands.   I'd give labour a pop at north, west or south.

I see it as an easy win.

It was Kenny's heartland, Ash just got her arse handed to her at a hustings tonight in Craigmillar, she's already lost a hustings with Kez at the high school and the branch is living in 'interesting times' just now.

She's not from the area, doesn't live here, parachuted in and is going up against someone with a national profile, even if it's a crap one.

I will leave it at that.

I don't know what you're worrying about. It won't even be close. It's the perfect constituency for the SNP- a mix of poor areas like Niddrie - with people who think independence is the way out of poverty, and middle class areas like Portobello - whose residents have benefitted from years of SNP tax cuts. Easy win.

I see the SNP candidate works for common weal and sends her kids to private school. It's like the embodiment of the SNP in one person.

How is sending your kids to private school the "embodiment of the SNP"?

You're going to have to explain that one, champ.

Of course by taking one point out of context youve attempted to build your own flimsy straw man.

Sending your kids to private school whilst working for an organisation (the common weal) which thinks all schools should be run by the state. She's done an Abbott, basically.

*whataboutery incoming in 3, 2...

How is "doing an Abbott" the epitome of the SNP?

I'll ask you again, since you seem to be struggling to come up with an answer which doesn't involve clutching at straws like Wurzel Gummidge having a w**k:

Not sure if this has been noted already, but the first televised leaders' debate is tonight: 9pm on BBC 1.

Unsure whether it warrants its own thread, but thought it might be worth mentioning for anybody who might want to watch but didn't know.

you've taken it out of context again, you'd have thought with 11 posts a day you might have got the hang of this. I'll explain again, sending you kids to private school whilst working for a socialist think tank is the embodiment of the SNP. Not sending your kids to private school. Honestly give up now, you're making an arse of yourself.
