Jamie_M
I hope you’re right. They are already heavily involved in the club, they have far too many business ties to the area to try to f**k the football club, they aren't historical asset strippers. Yes, there's plenty dodgy about them but it makes no sense to suspect they will do anything like HS.Also, some ruthless b*****ds running the club might actually stop the acceptance of mediocre.
Jamie_M
I was really annoyed at the appointment of Duffy as his track record was pretty poor but until this season he largely did a good job. His recruitment and selections this season haven’t been great though. Duffy's appointment was preposterous at the time but worked out well. Proved most of us wrong and has arguably been Dougie's best appointment. He survived many points where he could, and maybe should, have been emptied (limping over the league 1 line after being bailed out by Dougie's chequebook, losing to Spartans, last season's collapse). He thankfully down't survive another (this season's collapse that cost us £200-250k).He would have survived the dodgy decisions had it not led to such a dramatic drop.Time was up but he goes with best wishes.
niketon
Club director unlikely to demote himself to manager. He's in the frame for the managers job.

Disappointed he's not on Sportsound as they've just discussed it. Unsurprisingly, like all people who don't actually pay any attention to this division, they were unanimous about it being a surprise and Duffy doing a great job and how could we possibly get better etc. Especially enjoyed Billy Dodds describing this as "a good season that's just fallen short." Aye, just the nine points short of the top four.
Livi
Looks lile Duffy has been shafted by chairman’s son after all he was given a 2yr deal during his son’s tenure on the board.

He was alright with Brechin too. I'd be quite happy if he and Aitken did a job swap...... He's done an alright job all things considered, but ultimately things started to fall apart this season and his tactical failings have been obvious. While some managers can last through poor spells on goodwill, he's not earned enough of that to be rewarded for increasing failures.

Nah, the 2-year deal would (or certainly should) have been at least partly dependent on Duffy having another good season and getting us a play-off spot again, either sustaining what we'd built in 16/17 or building on it. Instead he's gone backwards and a lot of our failings have been down to him. Wasn't much else that could've been done in the end.

Funny view of 'shafted' - being given a contract extension that you shouldn't have got that will now likely get paid up even though you have just plummeted the club down the league, costing them quarter of a million in the process.

Coventry Saint
With the right guy on board, Morton could really push on and finish as high as 6th next season, I reckon.

For which he was well rewarded. Good job managers are judged on current performance not past, otherwise you would still have McNamara in charge. He cost us nearly a quarter of a million with his performance over the past 9 weeks. Rightfully emptied.
