Does that include BL2?

Final decision regarding BL2 is still pending.

Also the current TV contract goes through to 2021, so there will still be 5 per season Monday night BL games till then.

The 5 Monday night games will most likely end up being on at 13:30 on a Sunday.

  • 2 weeks later...

H96‘s shite season continued with a 0-2 loss to Hertha Berlin.
The week in itself wasn‘t exactly positive, with a report in the Sport Bild claiming that a change made to the legal structure of one of the holding companies within the company structure, infringed against the 50 plus 1 rule. Should this be confirmed, which I doubt, would result in a 12 point deduction plus cancellation of the clubs license for professional football, resulting in dropping down to Tier 4.

As regards the game itself, 1st half was played in a morgue like atmosphere with both sets of fans making a silent protest against Monday & fan unfriendly fixtures. Hertha took a deserved lead on the stroke of 1/2 time, and made the points safe midway through the 2nd half.
Result leaves H96 2nd bottom.
Next up a Sunday trip to Mainz.

German football weekend coming up for me. I'm going to Werder Bremen v Fortuna Düsseldorf on Friday and Schalke '04 v Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Looking forward to it, especially the Revierderby on Saturday. :)

Hopefully union can get their act together and get promotion this season.

Typically they seem to have gotten their act together (so far) when there are 2 absolute powerhouses in the division (Cologne and Hamburg) and St. Pauli look decent too.

Finishing in the top 3 is a big ask, but potentially achievable.

Finishing top 2 seems an impossible ask.

At a pissing down with rain Mainz on Sunday. Positive start for H96 taking a deserved lead through Hendrik Weydandt in the 12th minute. Thereafter backs to the wall. Pyro just after the restart from the H96 Ultras

resulted in the referee stopping the game for 8 minutes. Once play resumed, Mainz got their equaliser through the softest of penalties in the 89th minute. Things seemed to drop off a cliff when Mainz ‘scored’ in the 98th minute but was correctly chalked off for offside.
Fortunate with the 1st VAR decision, not sure as to why there was no VAR for the Mainz penalty.

Next up home to Bayern Munich. Keeping it to less than 5 will be seen as good.
