What's the excuse at Middlesbrough for the rows of empty faded pink seats? I'll repeat my original point, lucky Liverpool have a small ground so hey don't have an empty seat problem. As for the Boro point, Boro get a higher percentage of the population going to the games than Liverpool do, so the answer is that there just isn't enough people.
