Bold Rover
I think there are a lot of things to discuss here, older PnBers. I didn't want to invade the TV forum, and certainly not the Music one! But plenty of 1970s sociology. I'll begin by telling you that I thought Keep On Dancing, their first single, I think, is a cracking record.
Ned Nederlander
One of them lived over the road from us when I was a kid - don't remember seeing anything of him though. Can certainly remember the tartan fad though ... and I remember an anti-smoking advert they did where one of them suggested banana flavour fags!!
Bold Rover
Long before they managed success, they were a well thought of club band. Keep On Dancing was released several times before it was a minor hit. Then strange stuff happened.
paranoid android
Two of my sisters were huge fans. The early line up were at our door trying to get my brother to play keyboards for them. Years later, I went for an audition with a band that were managed by...Tam Paton. It could have been me!

wishyman
That Tam Paton used to sell tatties in Shotts when I was young. PDS, Patons dirty spuds. He always had a team of young urchins with him, they were as game as f**k. Edited September 15, 2015 by wishyman

ICTJohnboy
http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2000/mar/24/3 He wasn't terribly interested in child porn according to that report. Maybe he was just a little bit interested.

Hillonearth
Tam Paton was done for nonceitude. He claimed to be the man behind the Bay City Rollers, although it was what he was doing behind them seemed to be the problem.

throbber
Bit awkward for Believe the Hype, above. My vision of you is of a man who wears tartan trousers and likes the bay city rollers. This is not a bad thing.
throbber
I'm far creepier than that tbf, Throbber. I won't believe it
