Federer could play Nadal as early as the Third Round and play either of Murray or Djokovic in the 4th Round. Murray's ideal draw would be something like: 3rd Round Tomic, 4th Agut, QF Thiem, SF Raonic

Decent run for Dimitrov last week beating Thiem, Raonic and Nishikori to win in Brisbane.

Elixir
Are draws like this fairly instantaneous, i.e. done via computer, or are they 'pulled from a hat'?
The-coo-shed
Decent win for Dan Evans earlier this morning beating Thiem to reach the Semis in Sydney. Good chance of making the final as well!

Elixir
Good draw for Murray up to the quarter-finals. Could play Federer there but he'll have to beat Berdych in the third round and then Nishikori in the fourth. Wawrinka and Kyrgios could meet in the fourth round. Think I'm happier with Stan in Murray's half given their last two meetings and I think Raonic is due a win against one of the top two at a slam. He also has a pretty kind draw as well. Zverev and Nadal in the third round could be a belter. Verdasco against Djokovic in the first round is pick of the bunch, though. He could play Edmund in the third and then Dimitrov in the fourth too. Not an easy draw.
Elixir
Also, I never realised del Potro had withdrawn until I Googled him. Real shame. Him floating in this draw would have made it even more interesting.

TheScarf
Dan Evans into the Sydney final too after beating Kuznetzov 2-1. What a week he's having.

The Andy Murray effect finally starting to rub off perhaps? Dedication and training wise I mean. Not on Jamie of course, he's been a top 20 doubles player for most of his career.

Diamonds are Forever
Good draw for Murray. Nishikori in the quarters is tricky but I always fancy Murray against him due to Nishikori's crap serve and Murray's return. Would be surprised if Federer reached the quarters instead and even if he did I wouldn't have many concerns. And think it's better to be in Wawrinka's half, mainly because it's quite likely he wont get that far given how hot and cold he blows, plus Raonic is getting better and better and had match point on Murray in their last meeting (as well as being a set and a break up). I think he's not far off a big win against Djokovic or Murray. Also there are a few in Djokovic's half who on their day could beat him - Verdasco in R1, Dimitrov who was great last week and either Nadal/Raonic.

Loki
Really pleased for Gilles Muller. That's his first ATP win, and he is a very dedicated professional, unlike Evans. The schedule for the AUS Open is out, and Murray's first match is third on Margaret Court Arena on Monday (around 4am our time). The most interesting thing about this is that they have went with Murray's half to start with rather than the defending champion. Meaning that Murray's half will have the extra days rest between semi final and final.
Elixir
Even though it's to Murray's advantage and has been to Djokovic's in the past, I never could quite understand that. Does that mean his semi-final, should he make it, will be Thursday morning here I assume? Murray is on Rod Laver rather than Margaret Court, btw. Yes, Murray semi will be Thursday ( if makes it) Jokers Friday. Final Sunday. Interesting enough up until recently most tournament winners came from Fridays semi.Good to see he's on laver. He is not a fan of Margaret court due to less baseline space
Elixir
Suppose if you're not in too long a match it shouldn't make all that much difference, but Murray with Raonic last year and Federer in 2013 definitely seemed to. Did Djokovic have an extra day in 2012 between his two mammoth matches? It could be all important this year, though. I don't like it but Djokovic has had it before, so it evens things out a little.
