Mr Bairn
Surprised Inglot has been left out of the 4 man team. The tried-and-trusted formula has been to have Andy and A.N. other listed as singles players and Jamie/Inglot as the doubles team and then switch Andy in for Inglot unless we are 2-0 up. Now that they've got Murray/Murray listed for doubles, if Edmund wins tomorrow and Andy puts us 2-0 up then do we keep the Murrays in and try to win 3-0? Surely Ward or Edmund won't partner Jamie in the doubles
Loki
Andy Murray will play all three ties even if GB go 2-0 up unless there is an injury issue. The opportunity to win the cup with his brother would be too much to resist.
die hard doonhamer
Murray has said in his BBC column that he will definitely be playing against Japan next year, but with saying it that he'll not play in the tie between Wimbledon and the Olympics, should we get there. Jamie_B
I got out of the car and he'd just held the first game having saved several break points. Got back in and he's 5-0 up. Extraordinary.
Loki
Edmund was excellent in the first set. His forehand is perfect for clay, he generates so much power with it. Goffin looks like he is out of sorts and doesn't know how to react. Edmund can win this if his serve stays strong, his tactics are spot on currently.
Mr Bairn
Say Edmund wins this but we somehow end up going to a 5th rubber, would be very very difficult for Leon Smith to bench Edmund for the decider.

lichtie23
Goffin looks a broken man. This is incredible
Mr Bairn
Edmund wins this and we have practically won the tie. I know. We're firm favourites for each of the next three rubbers, but if somehow they managed to get us. Say Murray wins today and then we lose a long 5-set doubles and Goffin beats a tired Murray, then we'd surely have to play Edmund and not Ward on Sunday.
