Andy Murray The Greatest and General Tennis Chat

Has the Paris Masters winner always got a plant as a trophy?  Very rare and #unique from the French lads IMO; nice to look at and something you can look after in your garden.

So what would stop Murray not ending the season as world number 1? If I remember reading, Djokovic would need to win every game at the tour finals, but if Murray made the final and lost to him, would that still be enough?

Murray has to match Djokovic to seal Year End No.1, but if they both make the final he has to win it.  He is currently 405 points ahead, but he has 275 points from the Davis Cup dropping after the Tour Finals.

World Tour Finals Seedings:

Top: Murray and Djokovic

Second: Wawrinka and Raonic*

Third: Nishikori and Monfils

Fourth: Cilic and Thiem

* If Raonic withdraws because of injury Raonic will be replaced by Berdych - meaning Nishikori will move into second seeding, Cilic into third seeding and Berdych joining in fourth.

Murray's dream draw would be Raonic and Thiem.

Pretty sure Lendl is the only person to have done it. Djokivic and Federer both have 8 out of 9.

Federer has 7.  He's never won Monte Carlo or Rome.

Aye but they changed I think, think he has Hamburg or something instead. Lendl having them all maybe wrong as well actually, sure I heard it from somewhere.

Hamburg dropped off when Madrid changed from Indoor to Clay.  Federer has won Madrid and Hamburg.  As thescarf has said he is still to win Monte Carlo and Rome

He's still only got 7 as Hamburg was replaced by Madrid on clay which he's also won. So it's in theory a continuation.

Madrid on indoor hard court was then replaced by Shanghai so he's still technically on 7 out of 9.
