K.T Posted October 16, 2015 Share Posted October 16, 2015 I started listening to the beastie boys around the mid 90's when I found my brothers copy of Liscensed to ill, I absolutely loved it and then checked out all their other albums and I still listen to them regularly to this day. Didn't get to see them in Glasgow in 2000 but I thankfully did go in 2004 on the 5 boroughs tour and it was as good as I imagined it would be! Ya Bezzer! Posted October 18, 2015 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Yeah I've watched it, good doc. Beastie Boys were good but not a huge influence in black US ghettoes imo. Chuck D described the Beastie Boys as "essential to our beginning, middle and today". Darryl McDaniels said the Beastie Boys were "the Ramones of hip hop".
